I don’t have the exact service notes for this train but it would have been a Virgin Trains Cross Country service from either Manchester or Birmingham via Reading to Bournemouth

Prior to privatization these HST's travelled from Bournemouth - Edinburgh via Birmingham New Street and Preston, replacing class 47 Diesel / 86 Electric Loco hauled service with rake of MK 2 coaches.
