Yea, the sounds are very reminiscent of what felt like a good time I have a lot of other video on various formats that over time I’m going through and archiving to digital file based media so keep your eyes open Glad you enjoyed

Nice to see the old semaphores as well as the CEPs. In my time there in the 1970s, it was HAPs on those services. And there was still a semaphore starter on the east-bound platform and a semaphore distant for Teston crossing, instead of the colour light in your video.

Around the time of filming I did some shots around the crossing and signal box, sadly ruined by the grumpy operator who didn’t believe that the filming was not for TV news, sadly one of the drawback of having a professional camera back in those days

Excellent quality for 1998. My first date out with the lady who became my wife was a picnic in a field opposite Wateringbury station. We knew how to have fun in those days 😊

This was the same time the Class 508s were introduced on the Medway Valley Line and the Sheerness Line to replace the Class 411s

Around the time of filming I also recorded a full cab ride on a 508 from Maidstone West to London Bridge It was only ever ‘officially’ published on VHS but I have the original masters so I hope to be able to do something with it in the future
