4449 Daylight - 2017 Bend Steam Excursion

Last weekend, the famous 4449 lead a two-day steam excursion to Bend, OR and back. I caught the train four times, once in the gorge, once at the I-205 overpass in Vancouver, and twice at the Vancouver station. Lots of people gathered around to catch a glimpse of this magnificent locomotive, hence the people in my shots who don't seem to notice i'm filming.
6/24/17
Shot 1 - Vancouver Amtrak Station (10:34 AM). The train was headed east after being delayed for a passenger with a medical emergency in Portland and an A/C problem.
Shot 2 - East Vancouver (I-205 overpass, 11:09 AM). I was able to get ahead of it due to a BNSF grain train in 4449's way for a few minutes. Train is still heading east.
6/25/17
Shot 3 - Stevenson (7:46 PM). The train is a few hours behind schedule due to a late departure in Bend and heavy BNSF traffic on the Fallbridge. Train is headed west.
Shots 4 - Vancouver Amtrak station (8:46 PM). I beat it to the depot and quickly set up my tripod for a "going away" shot. Look closely when the engine stops and you can see the wheel spin. Apparently, tresspassing rules go out the window when it's a steamer.

RailMan4449 I think this one is a more "prototypical" SP Daylight whistle, if I remember correctly the old whistle was a Northern Pacific 3 chime...
