Great shot Paul 👍👍👍. I'm surprised they put her up the loop though, but it did make shout when pulling away!! I think the banker was on a bonus as well 🤣🤣

Thanks Robert, last time I was here I filmed from the road bridge - too much traffic noise though. Not so bad if the train is held at the signals for a few minutes, as it could be possible to get down to the platform to film it. A Chiltern train to London was also due & I was dreading that pulling in to Small Heath & blocking the view. Many years ago, think it was double headed Panniers heading to Tyseley as a Chiltern unit approached, but the Chiltern driver did us all a favour and stopped near the start of the platform instead of at the red signal. We all gave him a thumbs up after the steam train had passed.

@@SharposWorld yep, know it well. I worked at Bordesley down side a time or two on relief. Where the stone yard is now used to be a coal depot for LCP Fuels, we even had a weighbridge. We also collected scrap iron from Alan Rowlands siding opposite Tyseley station. And of course we we holdings for ballast/engineers traffic. The Cricketers Arms did a great ploughman's too!!

Stunning video! Amazing clips of great consists that are very rare. The black 5 shot was absolutely incredible and really entertaining to watch. Made some great sound when it left as well. Keep it up!

Thanks Toby, long shots aren't easy without a tripod, I did try one a few times but didn't get on very well - so it's hand held for me.

A bit more my style. Who doesn't love Bobby the Black 5?

I'd have liked to see it on the return run as well, but it clashed with "tea time" & I don't want to be in trouble with Mrs. S.

@@SharposWorld I can recall a true story my Dad told me. When he was a little boy, his trainspotting streak got him into trouble. This was when he lived in Finsbury Park, London, with his Father Wally and Mother Julie (later to become my grandparents). My Dad stopped by a fence every afternoon, on his walk home from school. There was a railway line on the other side, and the boy was fascinated by the steam and diesel engines that ran past in both directions. Thus, he was always very late returning to his abode. He was told off by his parents every time: "Bobby, where have you been?! Your tea is ruined!" So he was almost in the same boat as you, it seems. Oh, the joys of seeing a steam engine run past under your nose.

You could say I had a "trainspotting streak" back in the early 60s, lived in Croydon & used to get a Red Rover bus ticket to go to London, cost me half a crown, or 12½p in todays money. Often went to Kings Cross and A4s were still around then, as you may know, their nickname was "streak". Things were so different back then, only 12 years old & used to go all round London on my own, never had a problem, except one day taking bus numbers in a bus depot - an inspector ripped the pages out of my notebook!!
