Nice unboxing! That console and everything in it was in an awesome condition! And the fact that it still works is even better (considering all the RROD that those earlier models had)! It's a bummer that it didn't have the Blades menu but at least you have a spare console! Great video and keep up the good work!

I freaked when you opened the bottom compartment of the box to reveal the original bags for the controller and headset. Great find! Shame about the lack of Blades OS but nice to have a spare 360 around for experiments or mods. BTW just bought my first OG Xbox this weekend!

​@@collectorjohn9538Yeah! (Apparently)... You need to have RGH in the console and do some weird stuff with the nand and kernel of the 360. At this point I'm not so sure if it's possible to do it in any 360 model, but I'm sure that the first models of fat 360's (2005/2007), can be downgraded.

Dude… $45.. id pay that just for the Box and accessories lol. But Ah the memories… got mine back in 2006 Christmas and seeing you unbox it was just wow. Also side note I got the red ring 4 times in a year 07-08. I’m in the process of trying to find a older white Xbox 360 for the feels but I have PTSD from the red ring and if I see it agian being 31 I’m sure I wouldn’t be as nice as my 13 / 14 year old self 😂.

Always glad to see a new collector John video show up 😎 forgive my ignorance, but what is the benefit/appeal of having the blades dash? Just better aesthetics? I would for sure put that controller away until you eventually need a replacement 🎮

Yeah it's just the aesthetic. There is no benefit beyond that, and you can't put any games in made after a certain point because they will automatically update you off of blades. So the console is less useful lol

I just picked up a series x, and the way the box was took me back to the first time I cracked open my 360, just a lot less paperwork😂. I am also glad that I acted now back in 2006 and did that warranty. I had about 3 or 4 red rings and I will give Microsoft kudos on how well they handled the replacements. It sucked be because it red ringed on me right when ME2 came. Luckily I had a coworker he didn't really use hers and she let me borrow it until mine came back.

A month ago I picked up a OG Xbox from Cali on eBay. It came with XBMC 360 softmod installed lol. Not w big deal but it had softcore porno on it so I resoftmodded it with my backups and through in a 1tb drive. At least the disc drive worked!! But ya blades on OG Xbox wow

I would definitely keep that controller, 360 controllers with no stick drift are hard to come by nowadays. I would grab a skin or faceplate cover and display it, but thats me.

Don't even bother opening that headset. It's kinda cool just to have as it is as a novelty, but those are notoriously some of the worst headset/mics ever produced. I must have broke at least a half-dozen myself and kept buying the same shitty one over and over because it was cheap and there weren't a ton of better third party options for a similar price.
