But why not just take the dog directly to the dog shelter why do it that way, my friend had a dog, which she left with me all the time when they went travelling instead of taking her with them, after a year of doing this I told them they had to sit down and decide if they wanted her or not, I was not able to look after a dog full time I have 5 stray cats that have adopted me and the dog as much as I loved her was just too full of energy for me as I’m semi disabled and had to make sure that she did not jump up at me because she was too big and could push me over. We the decided they could not keep her but left it to me to sort out the problem, I called the dog pound in our local area and they were really good they took her and even the bed I had made for her as well as he blankets. I had a huge bag of bones for her and gave that to the guy to share with the other dogs that they had at the pound, Dad wrote a letter explaining to the new owners as to how and why they got such a loving dog for their family, and filled them in with what Bo loved to do the most in the world, she loved car rides and playing in her water bucket. Her old owners had spent so much time away from her they did not know her likes and dislikes. I would have kept Bo but she just wanted to chase my cats all the time and I hated having to have her confined to only the front porch and the dog run we created in the front of the yard. Her owners did not want her in the house, and we have never left a dog out side in all weather ever when I grew up with dogs. I was so happy Bo only spent one night at the dog pound and her forever family picked her up the very next day. It stil broke my heart saying good bye to her and she was not even my dog, but Dad and I made sure she had everything she loved go with her and so her new family could spend the time loving her without the extra cost of buying too much to set her up in her new home. I still think of her and I do miss her and her demands that I take her for a drive 😹😹but I am pleased she has a family with children who have the same amount of energy that she had. I think that anyone who abandons their pets rather than own up to the problems and take the pets directly to the pound themselves are selfish. It’s not about them at all, it’s about finding the right home for your pet that you are not able to look after. Bo’s owner left it up to me to sort it out because in the end they felt that Bo was more my dog than she was theirs because since getting her, they had dropped her off at my place to look after every time they went away, which was 80% of the year and half of the whole time when they first got Bo. I have spent my life finding and rehoming strays since I was a teenager. I would drive my parents up the wall because of the dogs that followed me home all the time, but they always understood me and my drive and need to find their owners or a new home. I don’t have time for people who dump animals without a care or thought to what they are doing.

The reason I remember this is, because it happened on a Monday morning which was the same day my garbage went out where I used to live, and when I got home from work, I had to walk a quarter of a mile away to get me garbage can out of my neighbors yard!! The only way I KNEW that, that garbage can was even mine, was because I had spray painted my address on my can, so when I saw it I KNEW it wasn't supposed to be where I finally found it!! I've seen dozens and dozens of CCTV videos on paranormal websites with images of people and animals that look exactly like that, and it's called proof that there really are ghosts.

Don't condemn the young man for "abandoning" his dog. The dog understood his original actions, you could see the sadness. That young man walked away with a breaking heart, but knew he did the right thing.

Whoever abandoned Albert the beautiful pup should be absolutely ashamed of himself!! Although it was most likely a blessing for Albert because now he has a forever home and someone to love& care for him the last thing anyone should do is abandon a pet or a child..theres always other options that are 100% better than leaving them tied to a fence and claiming someone else left the dog tied to the fence..theres so many people in the world that would love a pet or a child so figure out all the other options out there because that is one selfish, heartless, crude, and heartbreaking thing to do!!!

I would have taken him or any abandoned dog. No babies or kids, not interested in having any of those.

I'm not justifying his actions - but - he didn't throw the dog in a dumpster or abandon him miles from nowhere or shove him into a locked crate to starve. Maybe no one he knew could take the dog. Maybe the Animal Shelter was full and wouldn't take him (most Shelters are overflowing right now). A pet store would likely have kind people rather than a Craigs List ad where the pet might be sold to a lab or tortured for "fun". IDK if you have a pet - if you don't then you have NO idea how outrageously expensive vets have become. It can cost more than $1000 real fast with a couple of tests, not including meds or treatments.
