My mum and dad bought this comic for me when I was a kid, such great memories of escaping to the weekly adventures of Judge Dredd. What a fantastic way to recognise 45 years of this publication!

Lawless is in the Dredd universe, but tangentially. It’s largely divorced from anything on Earth and is instead more like a space western. It’s one of the best things from the 2000 AD stable in recent years and almost everything to date can be picked up in four trades. I *highly* recommend it. Abnett’s The Out, Brink and Kingdom should also all be required reading for anyone who likes good comics. (The Out is coming out in trade and HC soon. The others are already in trades. Brink is also featured in the Best of 2000 AD books.)

The 2000AD ENCYCLOPEDIA (which came out only a few months ago) is a great resource to get to know these characters in more detail. Dave Bishop’s THRILL POWER OVERLOAD is focused more on the behind the scenes stuff on the first 30 years of 2000AD (the second edition also includes the story of the first 15 years of the Meg)

My fav series is Bad Company by Milligan. Apocalypse Now in space. If I had to choose one comics thou that would be Horned God, it beats pretty much everything in the market.

The limited cover looks like a nice callback to 2000 AD’s 500th issue, which went for a wraparound grid of portraits. (I have the standard HC.)

Ignore the grumps who say Halo Jones is unfinished. Sure, Moore says he had more of it mapped out and has shared that with a handful of souls. But. The three books you get work well, and the ending to the third is an excellent place to leave the series. (Halo Jones is in Best of 2000 AD and, as noted in this video, will be getting an HC omni soonish.)

A prog is a issue...lawless is a good series....my first comic was 2000AD because the newsagents (store) the judge dredd story inside was a garth ennis....he did a huge run while John Wagner launched another Judge Dredd the magazine. Favourite stories and ones you should check out is necropolis, judgement day and America. Also if you haven't checked it out yet Button Man John wagner, I have all 5 volumes of the Judge Anderson psi files hope there will be more...my favourite charater as well. Kevin walker drew ABC warriors which is also worth a lookski. Good seeing you do 200Ad very underrated. Plz tell me you've read the Judgement on Gotham series 🙏 if not what ya doing. Love ya KZbin channel ❤️ especially the x-men, I'm totally in awe of your collection btw....thoubim also partial too a bit of xforce. My favourite xmen are psylocke most under used charater and x-23...

Yo sorry for my poor English I have a condition but yeah was supposed to collect spiderman but they had only 2000AD, I love my marvel but 2000AD is aimed at the more mature reader. Loving cyberforce got my copy for free cuz amazon sent via Germany and ww2 manage to read it but its not in a collection condition state. I stopped reading comics in 93/94 , got into clubbing a club drugs. Then one day I thought I wonder what psylocke was upto...started reading them again then I went on ebay picked up all of deaths head 2 run in mint condition, saw this guy on KZbin and thought yeah gunna buy me an omnibus and it's all been down hill from there...having blast reading it all though and omars reading guide are awesome. Didn't know this but I'm a big garth ennis fan...

Hey Omar I don't know if you read books too and if you even have time for them; but if so, there's a bunch of Judge Dredd novels that are Phenomenal with a capital Phen, like Year One Omnibus and year 2 Omnibus, which are the only two I've read so far they might keep going IDK, and The Titan Years: Rico Dredd. They're all 3 short stories in one book, and those three books that I've read are absolutely worth reading if you're a Judge Dredd fan. Just throwing that out there. I know there is a LOT more novels and graphic novels than I've read though. I started at the beginning with the Complete Case Files Vol 1, the classic black and white stuff, and I'm on Vol 2 now. But my favorite Judge Dredd graphic novel I've ever read is either the Batman/Judge Dredd collection, or the Judge Dredd City Limits series. But like I said there's a ton of them out there.

I recommend getting 15,16 and 17 volumes on ebay you can buy them in 5 volumes but trust me those volumes got 2 amazing mega epics and there proper old skool dredd...America is a beautiful story one of best ones my man...

It’d be really interesting to hear what he thinks of more modern 2000 AD fare like Brink (which, IIRC, he has the first four volumes of). If nothing else, I do hope some folks outside of the UK and Ireland see these videos, get their interest piqued and maybe try a few books. (Again, if you’re new to 2000 AD and interested, the upcoming Best of 2000 AD looks like a VERY good way to get into the publication.)

My only issue with 2000AD and Rebellion is that they don't release OHC or Omnibus of their work. Even now it's literally all TPB or the occasional hardcover. I want to collect my Dredd and Strontium Dog etc in omni format please. @Omar is this something you can use you're powers to influence?

I imagine it’s down to sales. Rebellion sometimes does HCs on its own site but that’s about it. That’s why I was so happy with the Hachette partwork. I knew it’d likely be the only way to ever get complete series like Nikolai Dante in HC. Of course, if more folks outside of the UK and Ireland bought the books, maybe things could change. :)

When it comes to UK publishers, what they call an "omnibus" is in fact a paperback complete collection. I don't think any of them ever release big hardcover omnis - I certainly don't recall seeing any from Rebellion or Titan, anyway.

@@akhilz What sort of other comics do you like? Also, are you dead set on colour works only, because that removes the bulk of 2000 AD’s first ten years (including a raft of classic Dredd, all of the original Strontium Dog run, 75% of Zenith, etc).

@@CraigGrannell I have and enjoy the complete Hellboy universe comics, all of the Geoff Johns JSA, the Miller DD and comics like Starman, Postal, Deadly class, Black Science. This is some that I own and read frequently
