45 Years of the Hornby HST

We take a look at the 5 variations of Hornby HST spanning a period of 45 years.
The source i found stated that the hornby hst was first introduced in 1978 however since then I've found a document stating 1977.
1980 Blue and Grey
2002 Fgw Barbie
2008 Vigrin (RailRoad/lima)
2008 Blue and grey
2023 Pullman
This video has taken ages to put together due to a lose of a close family member. Hopefully the next video shouldn't be too far away.

Hi, great review and running session, I have a few Hst sets, the latest is the Platinum jubilee set and coaches, it would be nice to see lighting in the Pullman coaches, thanks for sharing this video.

Hmm slight correction there . The set was in the 1977 catalogue and I got one for Christmas that year . It was certainly only available as a set with power car dummy and one mk3 track cardboard tunnel and battery power unit . The power cars alone were certainly brought out in 1978 (ie without the mk3) . Because the Hornby Mk3s were short I got Joueff Mk3s which did run well with them . Mine got repainted to Executive and then Swallow liveries . I wish I’d left it as inter city because I later bought a Lima HST power car in swallow livery . Love HSTs . Picked up the newer original livery version then an older Virgin one and finally my Scotrail Inter -7-City versions . Superb . An iconic train . Great video .some great liveries there . I’d forgotten all about First Barbie livery . Actually looks very good

That be why I found a date of 1978 originally and then after I found 1977.
