My cva Scout 450 will cloverleaf at 100 yds with Hornady custom FTX 250 gr. Took 2 deer this past season. 1 at 80 yds and the other at 150 yds.

They will drop a deer quick. But you should see what they do at 20 yards to a striped gopher. Was helping a buddy of mine sight in his Ruger American when the dumbest, maybe deafest, gopher on the planet came strolling through. Straight turned to pink mist, found his head 20 yards off from where he stood. Never forget it.

I havent shot ANY of these. Only factory has been Hornady Blk. But my hand loads in a bolt & M$R all tough or cut same hole @ 100yards. Like all guns ya just need find what it likes. Assuming all is sound with your firearm. (Proper built good bedding and barrel)

For anyone wondering the Hornady Black 250gr FXT bullets shoot 1 inch groups at 100!!! Just got this gun 4 days ago and could only get Hornady Blacks. Shot real good! Love this gun

I have the 450BM from Ruger. I am getting consistent inch groupings at 100 with Federal 300 grain fodder. Groups really tightened after the install of a Timney trigger. Perfect medicine for whitetail. I have dispatched a few deer with mine and it is a clock cleaner for sure.

Mine is sub MOA with Hornady Blacks. I only run mine gem mint clean also - she doesn't like the 4th or 5th round with a dirty bore. May work for yours!

My Ruger American 22" 450 BM loves the Federal Fusion. I think they're 265 grain. They go into 1.5" or less at 100 yards and dropped my last 2 deer like a box of rocks.

It seems like it liked the lighter grain stuff like mine does. What is the barrel length and rate of twist? I shoot the Hornady 250 Brian with a 18" barrel 1/24 twist rate and get the same groups as your Remington 260 grain??? Lmk thanks

Thanks I just bought the exact same gun, hoping to get a better grouping than I was getting with my AR with a 450 BM upper. I bought 5 boxes of the 250 grain Hornady Black FTP before the ammo shortage started and I couldn’t find any Accutips because Remington went bankrupt. Guess they’re back on the market. If you get a chance see what grouping you get with the Hornady Black ammo.

If you can find the Hornady American Whitetail 245 gr interlocks, they shoot fantastic out of my Ruger American Ranch bolt 450 bushmaster .35" 3 shot group at 100 yds. I'd be happy with that in my other rifles that are a lot faster!!

I think with these "brush gun" calibers, you should do water jug or gel tests as well. Cause for your under 100meter hunting shots, it's rather the bullets terminal performance than the accuracy that will be most important.

I have a savage 110 bolt action in .243 and it shoots 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards . I shot my first deer with it using a bi-pod at 230 yards and hit the deer just below the ear . I've never seen anything like it since i shot a Marlin 60 back in the 70's .

The Remington AccuTios run very well in my Savage as well. Unfortunately, Remington stopped making them and I only have about a dozen left. Thankfully, Hornady American Whitetail 245gr Interlocks shoot just about as well and have the same POI as the AccuTips.

I have only found hollowpoint or softpoint for the 450 Bushmaster. Funny how they don’t really make range ammo for it lol- it does hurt spending close to $2 a round every time I take mine out, but it’s a fun shooter. Thanks again WTW!

@@calebowens3006 I know what a .45 cal kicks like. I've had two 45-70s one Marlin 1895 and One Ruger no.1. The Marlin wasn't too bad for recoil but the Ruger was nasty. I had a NEF peepsite on it and it would come loose every third shot even after I put put locktite on the screws.

I enjoy hunting with the 450 but hollow points, specifically the FlexTip, is junk if you hit solid bone. Had a 35 yard shot on a big doe and hit the shoulder (she was quartered towards me) and it never penetrated. The front leg flopped around as she ran. Let her sit for 4 hours and was still alive and took off running 1/2 mile before I lost sight of her. I have never had an issue with Barnes 275 grain tsx or xpb reloads. I later took another doe and a 8 point the next day with the xpb’s.

I have a GLFA 18 inch .450 Bushmaster barrel that has the dual M-4 feed ramps for some reason. Some rounds get stuck half way into chamber when they are at their full angle coming from the magazine. Where can I send it to have the ramps ground down, and smoothed to help with that? I'm not sure where to begin.
