I calculated an average placing of the Japanese bikes plus KTM & Husky for Cycle News, MXA and Vital MX and this is the results: #1 Honda (1-2-1), #2 KTM (2-1-3), #3 Yamaha (3-3-1), #4 Kawasaki (4-5-4) & 5 Husky (5-4-5). Placing Order:(Cycle News-MXA-Vital MX).

Suzuki's are slightly above Kawasaki in reliability but nowhere close to Yamaha or Honda .

Mossiman praised the Yamaha's motor the last two years but now this year when nothing has changed he says it's too strong . There have also been ZERO reliability issues with the bikes and when Mossiman was asked to elaborate on his comments about reliability he can't , nothing to say . No other shootout mentions reliability issues either .

It’s free to mod the KX450 air box and silencer and tweak the map but I guess they have to test stock bikes.

Suzuki is not a POS. It just hasn’t been updated in recent years so they stopped including it because it’s already been thoroughly tested.

It's wild cuz u know all manufacturers are working on e bikes. They know that's the future but they also know it's 5 to 10 years out. So to do that and keep up with their gas bikes is alotttttt of r&d and money....shout out to them

Buy the Beta, same kyb adjustability and feel as yamaha, compliant chromoly frame, smooth power delivery, it feels very electric, linear but with the pull of a 350. The real benefit is the price, you can find killer deals on them right now, and the parts and add-ons you get for that price are very attractive.

You mean Pro level racing? No comparison, you could swap the top riders around on the Honda's, Yamaha's and KTM's and give them time to get the setup dialed and the results would be the same. You've seen Kenny on one of his all out one lap flyers and at certain tracks he's untouchable, same with Tomac. At that level it's more the rider. The teams are all great and the bikes are all great and so far beyond what a stock bike is most people have no idea.

450 is too much bike for majority of dirt bike riders. Look at mnt biking how it's gone from a skill sport to now speed and hooligan stunts. Regular ride uphill mnt bike doesn't exist. MotorCross bikes going same way. Look at Stark Varg amazing machine with 700ft/lbs of torque. Tell me which rider needs that much torque ? Why didn't Stark make a bike for the masses cheaper in price, Longer Range, less horsepower but finely tuned machine ? Doesn't make sense when you can sell more units by covering wider audiences. Same way motorcross dirt bikes are priced out of reach of the average Joe. Unless he's leveraged to his eyeballs in debt. Does KTM, GasGas, Husky are showing future of motorcycles. Higher prices fewer units priced for those w disposable incomes...

If you're going to put the stark electric bike against these 450 it's not in the same category.. you might as well have a brand new amped up 500 2 stroke or bigger against the Stark with no CC displacement but claimed high horsepower of 80 horsepower you have to put it in a different category because you could always put a bigger engine in. Anyways the whole comparison is bullshit.
