451 tries to rouse her cub

Sow 451's cub lies beside the road, possibly dying. Mom tries to get it to move. Heart breaking. edit The cub has died since I made this video. Bear technicians with Katmai removed the cub and will perform a necropsy to determine the cause of death.

This is so sad. The mama bears love their babies so much. You can tell mama is devastated her baby won't move. Mama knows her baby is dead and she is heartbroken. What a terrible feeling to know your baby needs help & you can't provide any help.

The death of this young bear is very common among all natures animals and birds. When young are born disease, accident and predators take their toll and it happens among humans also even with modern medicine that saves so many lives.

You can tell how the other cub is worried about his mama. He knows something is wrong and sees his mom upset. These bears are very caring toward eachother. What a sad sad moment. I'm in tears🥺😥

One thing we know, this mom fed her cubs very well. And starving definitely wasn’t the reason for its death! The junior that’s living is beyond well fed!

No, that's where it fell over because it couldn't make it any further. After an autopsy, they found it had canine hepatitis disease if I remember right.
