In this position i used kinda reverse psychology on steel tracks as a went over and between few stumps caught debris and pushed track inside so i used branches etc working up to smallish kinda 10" 15" log jammed it into track and drive spocket creating a (""frictionable surface "" ) ↩️ (word of the day "" frictionable 😂) and steered it on drive sprocket first then leveraged front over idler as you did with blade and chain but excellent job and valiant effort guy's as always👌

Put a block behind the blade, loosen the tightened cylinder, pull the blade backward which will back the front drive wheel back more. I use a come a long to hook the track on put it on the dozer housing. Crank the come a long up put front track on.

Put the check behind it get it up in the air you've got to spin the track while you put it on and there's a square knot up by The idler that you have to take off your grease fitting is in there you pull that and you'll be able to take the grease fitting off and it'll release the tension and then you can spin the track 2 release and then it should slide right on you can take the truck right back up and you'll be good to go. The grease fitting square cap over it.

I've got the same exact machine sitting here at my place over by the space coast. I parked it when the 08 crash hit, and I had to shut my little construction business down. I don't think mine will be as easy to start as this one was, but I put a new bottom on it just a couple hundred hours before I last parked it, so at least I don't have to worry about the tracks coming off. Like the other folks had said, I would focus on the drive sprocket first. If you can catch a few teeth, it'll pull the track back on, and that'll help a lot to walk it over the Idler.

Hey Wily! Great episode again Sir! I always enjoy watching you and Hank working on the farm and Construction Equipment. Me and Daddy used to work on Construction Equipment together and I miss those days very much with him. My Daddy was a mechanic for Brandeis Machinery here in Kentucky and I followed him in that career and even on the weekends we would work on different dozers and front in loaders together, Engine, Steering Clutch, other hydraulic and tracks were part of the things we would tackle. Try getting the track on the sprocket first and like the other guy in the comments said with the blocks and putting it in reverse it could walk the track onto it. God Bless you and Hank along with your Families. Maybe someday when I visit Florida I could meet you both😂

Hey there guys.... you musta heard of easy outs before... well they make a "female" easy out and its a left handed deal like any easy out cept ya have a socket instead of a stud that sticks out, that female one slides over a nut or bolt head and you put your tool in gear to loosen it, harder ya pull the tighter it gets.... DO NOT USE THOSE CHEAP ONES AS THEY BREAK AS QUICK AS YA PUT THEM ON... NO CHROME, always when using those female easy outs to get the impact type. The cheap ones just seem to break so easy and yer a gonna use that impact on them anyhow. If ya look inside them sockets I am speaking of, you will see the swearl of the inside of the socket designed to get tighter as ya pull on it.... it might just get to be your most favorite tool... they make em for each and ever size ya got of what yer taking off. That swearl gets smaller and smaller as it tightens on the part yer trying to get out.... it will even grab a bolt stud that has the head of it broke off and just grabs the saft part. I just kinda thought ya all had seem em before

I enjoy the videos ,but why didn't you just separate the master link? It should have been a couple hr job. There is enough slack in the track. Just by how much droop in it. Using the bars to jump sprocket is dangerous, it could slap you into next week or 6ft under.

I have watched all, never saw anyone look for master link. I KZbin other channels they showed two different master links for that model. One needs air hammer, the other had 4 bolts and a saw tooth look that interlocking . Why build something you can't take apart, most modern vehicles are built in such away you can't fix. My transmission in my jeep is sealed.

Glad you found the starter button, I told you it was between your knees. You have to get the track started over the rear sprocket first. After you have a few sprocket teeth gripping the track, put the track in reverse until all of the sprocket is in place. Once it is on the sprocket drive backwards over one of those big wooden blocks, the bigger the block the better. The weight of the machine on the block will hold the track in line with the bottom rollers. As you back up more bottom roller will start to line the track up with the front idler. Keep backing until the track goes in place over the front idler. Hope this helps. Robin in WV.
