Our first time in Asia Minor, Türkiye and Bodrum was full of new experiences and surprises. It was the first time we used an agent to check-in to a country, and the first time we attempted to tie-up stern to (in reverse) at a port of entry dock. In Bodrum, we were called to prayer daily, tasted new and delicious mezzes, and had our first Turkish beer. As history lovers, it was very exciting to discover that ancient Bodrum was the birthplace of Herodotus, who is often referred to as the father of history; and once the home of the Great Mausaleum of Halicarnassus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, which still lives on in the Castle of St. Peter from which Bodrum got it’s name. Bodrum was also the home of the first Turkish seafarer to circumnavigate the world in a small sailboat like ours. We hope you enjoy this short clip of our introduction to Bodrum and Türkiye. We had fun!

Welcome to Türkiye. Our coastline usually has excellent sailing conditions during the warm summer months. If you’re craving an unconventional adventure, Sailing in Turkey is an excellent idea.
