I think Charlie is a really great example of someone shamelessly accommodating for themselves based off of what they’re good at. A lot of times we get caught up in doing things the “right” way and completely forget that out-of-the-box thinking can lead to some amazing innovation. Who cares if you created a little jingle to remember your multiplication tables? You can remember them so much easier now! There’s a reason the alphabet song exists. Good for Charlie ❤

That's where she needs to stay. Behind the camera and editing. She's jumping in too much and adding little to the conversation with the people we click the video for (The gang).
When Rob says fans usually think he’s as stupid as his character or are surprised that he’s actually intelligent in real life, and he’s like ‘do you think we just make this show up as we go along?’ - I actually take for granted how clever this stupidly hilarious programme is and how cleverly they put it together
@hithere4719 Жыл бұрын
They do such a good job with immersion that it’s shocking to learn that Mac & Dee, Charlie & The Waitress, and Dennis & D.E.N.N.I.S. Target are all happily married couples. You have to be smart to play dumb. You have to be a dancer to play two-left-feet, and you can’t play someone who cannot carry a tune unless you really do. This podcast shows that you cannot write/play absolute sociopathic monsters without being great people with solid ties to friends and family ❤️
@DanteYewToob Жыл бұрын
@@hithere4719 Funny thing about the last bit about sociopaths… I actually was joking with my therapist once about how I was worried that I might be a legit psychopath or something because I like to pretend to be a sociopath in public sometimes by answering questions in a really suspicious way, or saying something that could be normal, or super creepy depending on how you take it.. She then explained to me that there was a pretty good experiment done years ago to learn about sociopathy/psychopathy and one of the tests was asking the whole group to pretend like you’re a sociopath or psycho… the interesting thing was, that the better you are at pretending to be a psycho, the less you are like one. I’ll explain… basically the idea is that when I ask a sociopath to answer a question as a sociopath or say something a sociopath would say, they tend to default to cliches, or textbook examples… but someone with empathy will give extremely dark, creepy, or disturbing answers and responses because we have the empathy to understand what would make someone upset. If you can’t understand how or why someone would be offended or hurt by something, you can’t come up with a creative answer. It’s kinda like sudsing out an alien in a group by asking “how do you hurt a human man?” And most people go “kick him in the nuts!” But one dude goes “By exciting his nerve endings to send negative stimuli to the brain.” Or “By using blunt force to his thorax!” Lmao Only a human would understand how to hurt another human… same thing. So when you see an actor Or comedian that’s really good at playing an asshole, or sociopath or whatever… it’s because they’re actually a really good. They have the empathy and emotional bandwidth to understand hurting others in a way that a true sociopath just isn’t. I find that super fascinating. Definitely seems true with Dennis/Glenn!

That montage of times where their characters match them in real life was really good.

Megan, really enjoyed the cut segments (e.g., how they are just like their characters in real life). Super smart and funny!

Of course I’m listening to this on the way from work as I need to poop. Best part is they’re still talking about poop as I’m on the toilet.

I canNOT with you guys!!! I am laughing SO frickin hard at Rob's detailed, descriptive, poop story. So much so I pee'd a little. Well done boys! Love u and love the podcast! I appreciate all of you and your time.

I really like the idea of someone listening to this in the car and involuntarily shitting themselves cause of Glen’s Life Pro Tip 😂😂😂
