The hatch looks AMAZING!! James, now you need to have Graham build you another hatch just like it to replace the other hatch on the other side so it will match. I'd say with two hatches like that and the portholes that the boat is going to look wicked when all said and done. 👍👍

Great job done there....At least you could do the job. I remember Having a similar job done last summer, and it was by a pub, The landlord came out and told both me and the guy welding and grinding to clear off. We were upsetting his customers, also he recons the arc light and sparks right on the path was worrying his customers. He said I could choose ...1 Stop and go to a more suitable place or 2 Have the welding gear and generator dunked in the canal. He did have have two dirty big blokes with him, so we took option 1...

Nice job by Graham--the hatch looks wonderful! As soon as I saw the design of the side hatch doors, I immediately thought of interior sliding shutters. They would give you privacy when you need it, as well as allow reflected light in when the sun was directly on the boat from that side. I suppose they could even have a bug screen on the outside.

👍👌❤️🇨🇦, the Eco Flow Pro is a great unit, I am thinking that the reason that Graham noticed the difference between the Eco Flow and the current his generator was giving out, is because the Eco Flow has a true sine inverter built in, not too an generators have that, just my 2 cents worth, Most generators do not produce a clean current and will fluctuate under load, that would make a difference to the mig welder and the ease of use
@phenogen8125
@phenogen8125 Жыл бұрын
Most gensets for welders (combo units) do make a square wave but should not fluctuate under such low amp loads unless undersized. I have no issues with my Miller Bobcat mobile rig and tiny stuff like that but have never tried any such battery inverter packs. Inverters used above 50% continuous rating will fail prematurely and peak load is at best 80% of the rating in my experience. Most of those died replete with smoke and flames might be salient info to bear in mind.

Oh dear; no gloves and exposed arms: not the right safety regime for potential spatter and the ultra high UV and really should have used screens as well to prevent anyone inc pets looking at the arc. Nice result and bound to create some business. Good advertising for the EcoFlo as well. Win win all round.

Health and safety written by suits in offices who probably would be offended if you farted in their general direction, meanwhile on the cut, a craftsman who knows what he is doing and doesn't need the suits patronising him, was a bit iffy though lol, but he still has his fingers and no one got electrocuted. That ecoflow did the job though. I know we love 'em but sometimes it just needs to be said, bloody kids. lol hope they are happy in themselves and are doing well and enjoying the Summer holidays. Made a note of Graham's contact details and going to get a hatch, just the small matter of getting a boat to put it in.

James, just an idea - you don't really have to turn Project 58 around, if it's not too far and in a straight line, you could tow her backwards to the new mooring with either Sloe Patrol or Serafina. Project 58 would be a rudderless butty.

He is supposed to move both boats every 14 days at a distance of at least 1 kilometre and travel from point A to point B then to point C and so on unfortunately James tends to go from point A then to B then back to A not quite in the spirit of the crt rules on constant cruising but good luck if he gets away with it

Quality, just worried the glass would have splatter from welder, I though glass needed to be protected while welding as the mig splatter can burn in to glass ?

I am going to take a wild guess and say that the delta sine-wave is smoother then the His genset power. Is His genset a pure sine, ? if not maybe it is time for an upgrade to His portability. Just sayin, cause He said that the delta gave a better more consistent weld. The difference in sine-waves might be the key.. and BTW CCHHEERRSSSSS
