Sadly I agree. My gaming group in general doesn't allow super heavies until after 2000 pt games. They just unbalance games IMO. I love my Warhound but if you can't do anything to it and just spend all game either avoiding it or dying...not fun.

Oh my god turn 3 was painful! I cannot believe how unlucky the Imperials were and how lucky the Nurgle units were. The Tallyman certainly becomes more ridiculous the larger the game being played. Without him it would have been all over by then even with the untouchable Warhound Titan. 1:37:50 Weren't those marines two different units? That Daemon would still have been tied up. Well actually, surprised you didn't just cede the gate as soon as you heard the titanic footsteps and warhorn, let alone almost every named demon! A Greater visual feast as always. Some lucky demon saves near the end might have swung it away from you, but I prefer to think it's because Garro didn't get his lazy arse into the fight Again. Get cleansing with that Burning Blade! Awesome(And brutal) batrep. Tbh I would think that the firepower the warhound was dishing out it might have been a better idea to neuter it early. Flying daemons have to die first, luckily the bigger smellier ones are quite slow so you can castle up at the back and smash them with dakka. Perhaps too much castle and not enough up in their grill(Terminus drop mission anyone?) maybe a judiscious deep striking speed bump might have bought a turn? So much smite that had to be rough. Keep up the great work winters.

Loved this battle report, love seeing a melee army crashing into a gunline like this! The titan did tip the balance quite a bit (would have been cool to see a tonne, literally, of daemons in it's place). One thing to Steve (? the daemon player), would have been good to try charge mortarian into the middle of all those squads first turn (depending on charge roll of course) as he can eat the overwatch then potentially shred the backline with his host of plague rule, and kill as many squads as possible (18 attacks, each 6 causing 3 more hit rolls) for Epidemius's passive. Also, piling in Belakor wasn't the best choice, if you held him back much less could have shot him because the big guy would be closer =)

loosing the first go was certainly bad news. But with a little different tactics you could have turned it. Ultramarine chapter tactics would have been better suited. Nurgedemons is a melee army Marines are better at shooting. So retreat out of combat and still shoot would have done you a better service. Also, the warlord tread that gives you back command points on a 5 up. The two reroll fortress were actually very nice thou Right at the beginning were all Nurgle forces were a big pile orbital bombardment is worth the points. Sacrificing the scouts this manner did not slow the melees down it speeded em up (Move+ charge + consolidate) scouts need snipers and stay out of melee. (cheap and effective) more psi was needed =more denying (warptime is awefull). les admec standards the are just cannon fodder. Mortarion should have been spamed with more grandees so that more laser cannons were spare for the Titan. The Titan should have been addressed right after Mortarion fell. All Laser Cannon in to it. (command point only spend when rolin d6 for dmg.) Your air forces were better of flying than hovering they die to fast if not on the move. Deep strike was desperately needed to take down epidemies (nasty thing) the sooner the better. I know lots of would s and should s I´m an imperial fan boy (cant help it). Seeing them getting butchered like that trigges me :-) Any way loved the show really like you battle reports.

12:14 you said that cawl has a 9 inch bubble because of his warlord trait but you can only have one warlord in your army which is the space marine captain.

Cawl auto comes with the warlord trait... hence why named characters are even better now.

If you warlord is a character, it can use a warlord trait..." and from ad mech codex page 99 "if Belisarius Cawl is your warlord, he always has the static psalm-code trait." So you get one warlord and only your warlord gets a trait.

Very intresting, and worth trying out, but I'm not sure a Titan works if only one side has one that can see/shoot the whole battlefield. Because it can kill 1 or 2 large vehicles every turn, by the second or third round the sides don't seem balanced any more. Could be a very exciting game with plenty tall buildings though (but that might be harder to film now i think about it) 🙀🤖

At 47:50 they killed off 2 of the vanguard but the other 2 were also of that unit because it was originaly 10 guys and they shouldve also died from the 2 more unsaved wounds

I think the warhound titan is the biggest kind of model that actually “works” in normal 40k. Everything else is too big and defines the battle too much. A warhound can actually be compared to a company of armor or knights, while all the other titans just eclipse any possible opposition that isn’t a titan.
