I have a forte as my daily driver and I thought about boosting it but I find it crazy that it costs just as much to turbo this car as it costs to upgrade the turbo on my 135i to get half the hp. I will keep the forte as my fuel efficient a to b

There is always going to be a faster car. It's difficult to compare adding a turbo to a non turbo car -vs- upgrading a turbo on an already turbo car. Since the 135 is already turbo from the factory, a majority of the stuff needed to successfully turbo a motor is already taken care of by BMW. It's always best to compare % of HP and gain. How much would it cost to gain the same % HP on your 135 -vs- the Forte.

New fuel tanks, pumps, injectors, turbo kit, catalytic convertors, high flow exhaust system, race tires, spark plugs, performance chips, reprogramming the computer, manifolds & new headers, better drivetrain is about right to have 475HP, but 0-60 in between 4-5 seconds is fast 😍😍😍, when i order my turbo, is there only one kind?

My 2011 Forte koup sx with the 2.4L has 170000km on the engine and Tranny. Is it a good idea to try and install your turbo on it now or is the engine too old and I should rebuild it first?

If the engine is healthy, via a compression and leakdown test, then you have the potential of being fine. If there is anything already wearing out, the turbo will magnify the issue.

Hey guys! I am actually looking to get one of these soon in the future but I have a couple questions.. 1. How much can a stock engine take on boost just so I don't try to overdo it just incase it's a very low number.. 2. What mods do I need to have done before I do turbo the car.. and 3. Would a Holset turbo work on these by any chance and what Evu setup should I get? Full Standalone or some sort of Piggyback Ecu? I plan on buying a MT 6speed as well and hopefully a first gen but if not then I'll get the second gen for sure! I am also planning to make it a daily driver and a track car as well, so I'm shooting for the 400 - 450hp range

Hey Jordan, thanks for your interest. 1) Stock motor, keep it under 10 PSI and you should be fine. It's actually a pretty boost friendly motor and 10 PSI with the right exhaust and tune can get you close to 325 HP. 2) Mods would depend on your HP goal, if you want 400-450 right off the bat, then you'd need our Stage II Engine, Clutch/Fly, Fuel Return, BTRcc Tune Option, Gauges, 3" Turbo Back Exhaust, etc. Basically rebuilding the car above. If you want to start on the stock motor, enjoy boost now as you plan for a larger build, then Turbo Kit, 3" Back Exh, Gauges and BTRcc ECU option. 3) The kit works as the kit, we cannot guarantee fitment of any turbo other than the options we have. The 6MT 2.4L is the way to go on these platforms. Let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks

@@TurboKitscom I can definitely agree with this. Got my kit from you all a few years back and haven't regretted it despite some of the issues during install. The best advice I can add to this is to find a reputable and knowledgeable installer if you've never done an install like this before. Also, if you do the Haltech ECU and aren't familiar with it, make sure you have the time to invest in playing with all the settings and/or have a local tuner who knows Haltech.

+smurf131cr Since there is already a turbo model from the factory the aftermarket for a non turbo model will be severely limited. We don't have any turbo kit plans for the 2.4L Optima, but we are working on an upgrade kit for the 2.0T.

OK this is awesome and after an injury I am unable to continue racing motorcycles, so the logical step was to get back into cars. I would love love LOVE to do a KIA build and not a Honda or Mitsubishi but my worry is that even with after market support with the motor what about everything else? Is there stronger axles available? Clutches? Springs & struts? Who makes parts to beef up the rest of the car? Its badass that you are getting those kinds of numbers but how long is the rest of the car going to last?? Please anyone who knows of websites and other sources please share. The aftermarket is limited, but there are clutches, flywheels, motor builds, coilovers, suspension mods, turbo kits (obviously) etc. There are 2 Forte builds at about this power and both are holding up well.

He says it has a supra motor, now I have been out of the car game for a long time but come on I find it hard to believe they put a 2JZ in a truck and supercharged it. Is there any truth to any of this?????

I have a 2010 kia forte 2.4 with tk's turbokit. I have a question and im not being rude when i ask but how are you only making 380ish to the wheels? I really feel you should be making more. I am putting down 311whp and 320wtq on 10 lbs peaking about 12 lbs but holding 10 lbs. I have all stock internals. I dont have tk's block package. Only have a 2.5inch downpipe and still the stock 2.25inch flex pipe. I have the haltech standalone tuned and a couple more things but not near as this built forte. I am running the t3/t04e turbo that comed with tk's kit. Is the garret turbo smaller than tk's? I would think that running 21psi and a built engine with im sure upgraded fuel system, and possibly more i dont know about, would produce more than a 60 - 70 whp difference than me. What am i missing? Like i said. Im not trying to be rude, just wondering. Thanks

Joseph Schultz Hey Joe, it's Jesse, what's up man! Long time. We tried 3 different turbos and 2 cars with the same builds and 390 was the max. We believe it to be a restriction in the head or intake plenum causing the power to stop at the 390 mark. Plus these numbers are on a Mustang DYNO (the heart-breaker). Now I have owned a 300WHP Forte and a 390WHP Forte, the additional 90 WHP, although may not seem like a lot, completely transforms the car! Anyway, great to hear from you and glad you are still rocking the kit after all these years! How long have you had the kit?

michaaaaaelTG thanks for posting up! Turbocharging your AT Forte is definitely not stupid. When going turbo you will need a free flowing exhaust, gauges, a boost controller, and spark plugs. Since you have an AT we strongly suggest a transmission fluid cooler ($100) and at our recommended boost level (6 psi) the kit is very safe. Haukenslush unfortunately our turbo kits for the Forte are only for the 10-13 year models. We would be able to source you the components (the turbo, universal piping, intercooler, wastegate, BOV, etc.) however you would need to customize it to your vehicle with a fabricator. Along with a tuner who is comfortable tuning for forced induction on your Forte. Thanks!

+Daniel Martin Different body style and upgraded motor to GDi. We have not tested it and are not certain it would be a 100% drop in. Plus you'll then need to tune it, which none of the options for the older Forte will work with GDi. So unless you're ready for a "project" we don't feel it would be a bolt on deal.

Not at all, a low boost 6-7 PSI set up could get you 80+ HP and make the car very fun to drive. You could even get some trans work done and up the boost to the 9-10 PSI range. It all depends on your budget.

Yeah if you LSD it, slick it, get custom axles, etc, Im sure you could put down a great 1/4 mile time, but 2nd, 3rd, 4th is where a car like this really shines!

@@rheath1995 It might do ok in the 1/4. HP looks pretty good, but getting power down in any FWD car is a challenge. He would probably get high 14's to low 15's due to a lack of traction. My 02 Z28 six speed wasn't making huge power, fairly stock. This forte looks to have more HP. I ran about 9.0 in the eighth. 13.6 in the quarter but struggled with traction. I had the 16 inch wheels rather than the 17's, and I had tires meant for high wear.

Building a friends Forte sx with custom turbo setup A/R 56/59 precision turbo. and running 245/50/18 on ssr 3pc heavy wheels. Still getting wheel spin in 2nd gear pulls. Probably making 300hp to the crank on a 1.6l.

It's an FWD Open Diff 475 HP car, the 0-60s aren't going to be impressive. I'd fully expect it to be in the low 5s if not in to the 4s, but 1/2 way through second, 3rd and 4th is where a car like this shines :)
