Modern buidilngs don't tell about level of the development of a country. They collected all of the money and put them in Astana depriving other cities and regions. To be exact, Australia's GDP per capita is $54000, and Kazakhstan's around $9000. Accordingly, average salary in Kazakhstan is $200-300, while in Australia around $4600.

Yes, you are right Almaty is a birthplace of apples :-) In fact, I am not jocking, 30 years ago Almaty was surrounded by giant apple gardens, and you could see apples growing everywhere in town, and it was a unique kind of apple called Aport. Unfortunately, rich people (individuals, companies, etc.) bought the lands on hills with gardens where grew Aport, they cut down all the Aport trees and destroyed the nature... afterwards, we lost that unique kind of apple :-( But you still can find Aport, yet it's not the same and it doesn't taste the same as it used to... Anyway, the meaning of Almaty is a city of apples. Thank you for sharing your journey with your viewers! Again, you are a special kind of couple, I love watching your videos!

Hi there! Just by watching this video series I feel like going to your beautiful country! Would you mind tell me about your culture? Like what kind of values people like be, and also how do you see each other since I’ve heard there are a lot of different nationalities living in there
@aisamarnie3 жыл бұрын
@@Alienmtl hi! Just stumbled upon your comment, hope it’s still relevant. Locals here are usually friendly and tolerant towards tourists, many Russian and other Slavic and European people live here among Kazakhs and others. The culture and views depend on the city and social class, the youth tends to be very tolerant and understands everything, many know English, whereas citizens from the less developed cities can be ignorant or skeptical towards aliens, at least to the “West” things and stuff. So if you hang out with people from the main cities and I’m the downtown, there will be no surprises, just like in any city in the world. Btw I guess we resemble Koreans a bit regarding culture as there’s a thing as social acceptance, criticism, and automatic respect for elders. Also Kazakhstan is still pretty closed off and homophobic. Another shocking thing for many is that we eat horse meat. So yeah

So cool to see you in the same places in and around Almaty that I was in, Charyn Canyon was amazing, first time I was in a canyon in my life, so it was special. And yeah that cathedral is beautiful; it was still being renovated but yet beautiful when I was there, haha. Russian Orthodox churches are my favourite style of churches, they're so colourful and amazing. If you had walked a bit further from the cathedral and the Green Bazaar you would have found the Almaty Central Mosque as well, btw. And well yeah, Kok-Tobe, went there at night, a bit touristy on the top maybe but great view of the city from there. Never was in Nur-Sultan/Astana but yeah it's really futuristic. For me who prefers more traditional architecture and something with a more traditional feel to it, and history, it didn't really interest me that much to be honest but yeah I'm sure it's cool to see as well and there is probably a lot to do there too. Maybe in the future. I want to see other regions of Kazakhstan as well, so hopefully I can be back soon.

most of the mosques that have a dome in the center of the prayer hall have large chandeliers that go straight down from the center of the dome, it is indeed common and there are usually around the central chandelier other smaller chandeliers I add that I like it a lot when vloggers manage to convey to their followers the emotion they feel when they make a discovery they share with others on KZbin it is difficult to transmit an emotion that is not something intellectual or rational and it feels more in the voice and in the look on these new things that we just discovered Congratulations and good luck! You honestly should have explored Almaty more. It is truly a city of contrasts. On one side you have a megapolis and KZ's center of business, while on the other side it's mountains (Shymbulak, Kok Zhailyau, etc.) and parks, nature, lakes (Big Almaty Lake especially). The upper part of Almaty is a more wealthy region, with all the business centers and stuff, also above Al-Farabi avenue is where a lot of Almaty's upper class resides (up Navoi/Dulati st, up Dostyk ave, Zhailyau golf club, etc). In your "Almaty Vlog" you only showed the rural-ish side of the city and maybe did not see much of Almaty, which might be why Astana looks SO much different to you. I feel like a good idea for the video would be also observing the contrasts and comparing how differently people live in various neighborhoods, sort of extraordinary and different from the regular travel vlogs.
