I would look at suburbs of Boston & Connecticut (these may sound random if you aren't from the U.S), but the countryside there is similar to the UK and it's close to the ocean - you can also take the train into NYC, Boston, D.C, etc. which is fun. & they have great schools and beautiful towns. It's also easy to fly back to the UK to visit, as it would be a shorter, direct flight. ❣

Oh yes what a fabulous suggestion. I had a holiday touring the East coast of America a few years ago and it was beautiful. We drove through Maine all the way down to Boston in the early Autumn and the countryside was stunning. It definitely had a UK vibe about it. The colours of the changing leaves were spectacular. The high point for me was Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard ❤. The beaches were amongst the best I've seen, although I was frightened by the warning signs about great white sharks and didnt dare swim in the sea 😂. I'd live in that part of the US in a heartbeat if I could 😍. I bet Halloween around Salem is an experience. I remember seeing Stephen King's house and it was very spooky 👻

As a British girly waiting on my visa approval to move to Colorado, I cannot recommend it enough! You get true all 4 seasons, which we miss out on in the UK, and being able to see the mountains pretty much wherever you drive is stunning. That's the best I have ever seen your hair, FABULOUS! Elle, I'm a California girl, I live part of the year in my beloved California and part of it in Texas. I completely understand your point of view about Houston. First of all, the weather sucks in the Summer and there is not much in terms of natural beauty. It's ranked as the 4th largest city in the US, so you get all the big city amenities, which are great, but if you love nature, not so good. I lived in Texas for 17 years and finally decided I needed natural beauty and moderate weather so moved to Seattle (gorgeous) and then finally back to California. So many great places to live in the US, you just have to find your place. Colorado has many wonderful small towns you would love but no beach access, of course. You will have a great time exploring! Don't stock up on Christmas decor until you go the the Christmas Expo you mentioned, you will be blown away by it! Please vlog that experience, I want to go with you! Last, I wanted to say that your body has been through a hell of a lot in a short period of time this year! You have been VERY active, just not in the way of going to a gym, but being on the go constantly certainly helps burn calories and keeps muscles working. Be kind to yourself. I always look forward to your videos.

American here ❤ You HAVE to check out the Carolina’s! We moved from Kansas City to North Carolina and it is filled with SO much nature!! I love that it still gets the 4 seasons!! You have the option to live in a more city like area and be able to still enjoy the nature in somewhere like Raleigh. Or you even have the option to go to the beach, which is just two hours away from Raleigh or the mountains, which are just three hours away from Raleigh! Highly highly highly recommend

American girl here who’s been around since before the boys and the wedding!!! I have lived most of my life in Middle or East TN and love how you can go from the city to the country pretty quickly. I would also recommend other parts of the south like North or South Carolina or parts of Georgia too. I visited Colorado this year and absolutely LOVED it. I also have always loved the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon) but cost of living there is much higher. New England and areas around there may also be pretty similar to vibes you’re wanting/missing☺️

Regarding Connors impending trip . December babies have a habit of coming early, not sure why, probably because of xmas etc., my first baby was two weeks early and was due on the 30th. Nearly all my ante natal class were a bit early. My other 4 kids were between a week and 15 days late. So just be aware as it would be awful to miss the birth.

Hey Elle! As an American myself, I highly suggest Virginia. VA gets all four seasons, it has the beach, the city life, and you are close to major cities like DC, Richmond, etc. Also, it has mountain life and beautiful rural areas if that is more your vibe. VA is honestly very diverse, with different areas to choose from.

USA girl here! We live outside of Knoxville, TN and own 8 acres of land. It’s such a great place to raise a family and it’s so beautiful! There is opportunity to buy land, hike, take the boat on the lake, etc. Knoxville (East TN) is a pretty diverse area, with things going on all the time and I enjoy living outside of the city because when I want the “city vibe” I can always visit. For you guys I’d recommend Colorado (mountains/lakes), Charleston SC (beach vibe without cali prices) Wilmington NC (also beach vibe minus Cali prices), and of course East TN (I’m biased lol). Those are just a few that come to mind! There’s so much more I could share with you!
@6stringsGirly2 ай бұрын
Just wanted to add that you need to narrow down what kind of weather you want (4 seasons or 3? Lol), economy in the area/ budget, family environment/community wants and needs, price of land if you want to be in the country, and if that area aligns with your hobbies. I’m a mountain girly and we chose a place that offered that instead of a beach. There are SOOOO many more places where you can get the California landscape without the insane prices and a much better family lifestyle! Don’t put yourself in a box because each state offers something different and unique

While I've been a TX girl my whole life and would never live anywhere else, I also realize it's brutally hot during the summer and that makes it unsuitable for lots of people. That being said, there are tons of places in Texas that offer more of the "nature vibe" you are craving. Austin sort of offers the best of both worlds in that there are plenty of social activities, but also lots of hiking/nature/swimming/parks/bike riding. The traffic is a nightmare, so there's that. Hope you find somewhere that makes all of you very happy ❤

I live in Salt Lake City, Utah and it’s beautiful. We have so many different landscapes in here. There is the beautiful mountains that we live right up against and then amazing red rocks down south. We are a quick drive to many national and state parks. We have two kids and one on the way so it’s important to us to be near lots of fun things for the kids and because of the cultural aspect of Utah there is so many parks and children places near by that we never get bored. There is also many different and nice gyms around and we have an international airport so you could fly straight home with no layovers. I have been a viewer for so long and would die if you lived in my state. 😁💕

US girly here who's been living in the UK the last 5 years, but I have lived in every area of the US and traveled to 46/50 states... A few suggestions for you to consider: **Best place for young families:** Salt Lake City, UT area (anywhere in the Wasatch Front really, from Payson in the south to Kaysville in the north)... or if you want to be IN the mountains, places like Park City or Heber City... loads of nature opportunities nearby while being close to a bigger city with a more suburban feel. Loads of kid/family activities all year long bc so many people there have big families. Just a good, wholesome community. The mountains are stunning, and you do get all 4 seasons there. Con--the housing market there has been pretty expensive the last couple years. **Best place for Small Town America experience:** New England, but specifically in areas like Vermont, northern CT, New Hampshire... Brattleboro, VT is one of my faves. I spent two summers there and it is a gorgeous place where things like kayaking down the river or hiking through the woods is commonplace there and easily accessible. Harsher winters and very hot, humid summers without the benefit of AC in a lot of homes. But architecture, history, small town vibes all feel more quintessentially American than other places I have lived. Taxes and cost of living is higher here than some parts of the country, but housing can be cheaper depending on how far in the country you want to be. **Best place for nature-lovers who aren't skiers:** Pacific North-West, places like Portland, OR. where coast (more rocky beaches) and mountains are both accessible and the climate is more temperate so winters aren't quite as harsh as New England (more like the UK) if you don't live IN the mountains. The cost of living here is usually lower than California, but probably much higher than TX. Portland is a pretty diverse city but the rest of Oregon not as much. **Best overall place to raise a family:** Midwest, such as northern suburbs of Indianapolis. Carmel and Fishers, IN have both won the #1 place to live in the USA over the past several years, largely due to a combination of educational and extracurricular opportunities for kids of all ages, a moderate cost of living & housing compared to many other parts of the country, tons of family-friendly activities year round, job opportunities, etc. Good, wholesome communities with more of a small town America feel than UT and more affordable housing. However not as many obvious outdoor activities as places like CO, UT, or OR. Still plenty of beautiful neighborhoods with trails for walking and biking, and several state and city parks in the area where camping, hiking, even boating are possible. It might not be #1 for nature lovers, but the country side is beautiful and nearby like it is in the UK, and you get definite 4 seasons here. When my husband finally gets his US visa and we move to the US with our toddler, this is definitely one of the places on our list to consider because there is a whole lot to recommend it.

Hi Elle! Oh if I could be 28 again there would be so many things I would do differently. I love that you're living your best life and at a young age hon. You are doing amazing! I'm a northern Cali girl now living in the DFW the past 7 years. Totally understand you on the extreme heat here in Texas and your need for nature. In our area everything is flat. No hills or mountains & no ocean. It was really hard for us to adjust in the beginning, but we've gotten used to it now. I do agree with other comments that y'all should check the suburbs of the upper East coast states. They get all 4 seasons and it's close to UK if you need to go back home for any reason. I'll really miss sharing a state with you guys if do leave Texas, but wish you all the best no matter where you go. ❤
