I grew in two places, North West and South west and each time Newcastle under lyme was a LOT closer. And I can assure you, when people think of "Newcastle", they think of the land of the geordies. But beaches are not something you associate with newcastle. Edinburgh has some lovely beaches too. Not far from Yellowcraig beach which is great. But its just not something you think about

Love Newcastle. U should go to Tynemouth in the team. And try the Ferry from North Shields to South Shields. Khai Khai is a fantastic restaurant and the Malmaison is a cool hotel to stay in and eat in!!!

As someone who lives in Newcastle some of the things you should have done was : Go to see the millennium bridge Eat at a restaurant called the fat hippo Go to the theater/pantomime Go to the everyman cinema ( its posh has a great bar and food etc) Shop at eldon square Visit waterstones book shop( 4/5 floors tall ,has a cafe and a great selection of books) See the street performers on corners Visit the Haymarket If you bike around it get some food at the cycle hub Go to the baltic centre for contemporary art If your into pool go to the hustler pool and snooker club And to end it all of go to the great north hancock museum or discovery museum both are amazing

There was a chippy at Marlborough Cresent bus station. All cooked in animal fat. They'd cut a hole in the side of a stottie and fill it with chips and curry sauce. Fantastic after twelve pints of Wallop at the Dog and Parrot.

So where do I begin? Whitley Bay, Tynemouth + Tynemouth Market, City Centre, Metrocentre, Beamish (not newcastle but close enough) and finding a good place to have a good Saveloy Dip (Jamieson's Forest Hall) 😁 oh and Waves

Yorkshire and the Netherlands, the brewery was right next to the stadium now there's a hotel and student accomodation on the site. You could taste the difference when they moved production away from the city.
