This is one of the predicaments that we at the top in our various fields face. In my own endeavours I have come to see that their were daily detracting habits that I took for granted but which limited my performance. I'm a double digit daily return trader in Fx and other accounts and with input from other elite traders I have a better handle on what may be limiting practices. At this level we look not at what is gained but what is lost.

Best glasses to ride in if you can afford them. I know the price tags are usually steep but well worth it. Although all in all they make top of the range untouchable glasses. I have some for lifeguarding as well as triathlon work.

Caffeine (as in coffee) is a known performance enhancer. It reduces glycogen use during hard efforts. Since you have very limited amounts of glycogen in your body this is extremely beneficial. The IOC (Olympic committee) actually has a limit on how much you're allowed to drink during the Olympics. I think it's about seven cups a day. The best thing is that as a performance enhancer caffeine DOESN'T have diminishing effects even if you use it often

@RustyR I never heard that term before but I something that I do when I ride my bike which I believe is what he is talking about when he says this, is that instead of being on a gear you're comfortable at when riding, push it up a gear or two more which makes it harder.
