Unquestionably the best scene in the movie, love the realism of it. This shows that even though when 2 guys working on the same side that can get in to it just as easily as if they weren't working on the same side. Very intense and believable fight,Jack meant business who expected Reggie to tell him the truth or else. Which lead to a classic street brawl where Jack's bigger size which is what really ended up being the decisive factor of this fight!

I noticed during the street fights in older films from 70s through early 90s that outside of martial arts films, black characters fought in a Boxer style using the jab while sticking and moving where white fighters were more 1 punch Brawlers using heavy rear handed swings, collar grab and punch tactics and when they were getting beat they would try to tackle their opponent and ground and pound them. seen this several times. even during the chris tucker-charlie sheen fight in money talks had this as well.

There are 2 elements that can determine who won a fight. These elements are physical damage and punch count. Eddie seemed to have less damages than the cop. The cop was left with cuts and bruises that were visible for the duration of the movie. The punch count was about even, although the cop cheated by catching eddie off guard outside of the car which was the first punch and in the car just before he drives off. I have it about tied. Nolte and Murphy each punch each other the exact same number of times. The fight begins with Murphy landing more punches on Nolte, but then Nolte catches up by the end of the sequence. However, if you count correctly, you'll notice that Nolte is still one punch behind Murphy. That's why once they are both back sitting in the car, about to drive off, Nolte suddenly lands one last knuckle sandwich squarely on Murphy's jaw, and they are even. BTW, this is one of my favorite films from the 1980s.
