I know this has been a roller coaster (and not of the Disney kind), but you have got this. The location may not be your ideal destination yet, but you'll get there and make the most of where you will be because it will offer you a lot given you have a positive mindset. Have a great Christmas and you'll be in Australia and cursing 🙂 the heat before you know it.

Hahahah literally been watching it reach 44 on the weather app this week and thinking I'm gonna be staying indoors until it cools down. We're rolling with it all and just taking it as it comes - feeling far too grateful so far to think any other way!

Nice to see after all the time you're going to be here for what is the warmest months of summer. Of course the temperature here in south east Queensland will differ from WA, its 37C here at the moment, but its heatwave conditions in parts of WA so temperatures can be in excess of 40C. Just plan for that when bringing clothes as all those Scottish winter clothes can be left behind. Shame you couldn't be here for Christmas but not long to go and the fun and games will start.

We've been watching the temps rising in WA to 44 this week and thinking holyyyyy molyyyyy. Gone and bought more temp-appropriate clothing for the fam, but will see what we really need once we're there and acclimatise a bit!

It really doesn’t matter what this first posting is like, once the two years is up you can apply to any school in the state. So fully worth it.

I'm just stressed listening to your whole story. I can feel how you two must have felt. Yeah our public servants sector is definitely a pain in the ass to deal with. You always get people you deal with who don't know what they're doing. You always get the run around most times. If you do your homework and know the process then if something is going as it should or is wrong then you put it to them. Don't always trust what they tell you is what you have to do or is correct.

Do they have school uniforms in the UK? If not the kids will need school uniforms 😅
@mariatateofficial16 сағат бұрын
Yess, the school's here all have uniform so this isn't a surprise haha. It's actually better in Aus because it's less items, whereas here we need jumpers, polo shirts, summer dress, trousers, shoes (which get ruined weekly so need replaced), PE kit. And in Ella's school they do a different colour for each year group, so even if something could stretch to another year, we need to buy new for the colour theme haha. Her WA school is just hat, polo shirt, skort, trainers. So easy!

I personally would prefer to live in Yanchep then Mandurah. And the rail journey time is shorter to the Perth CBD., but that's by the by, keep an open mind and wait till you live here to make any decisions. I think I would rather live anywhere in WA than live in the UK! Good luck with the move., and who knows you husband could be teaching my grandkids sum day.

Ooo thank you for this! We're definitely going to do our exploring around different places to see what feels most like home for us. So many options and looking forward to doing trips in all of them at the very least!

We had a fully sponsored visa from my hubby's work. It too saved us many thousands of pounds, and they provided us with accommodation it the same stunning suburb in Sydney that the Prime Minsters residence is for a month. Made what is a very big move as easy as going on holiday, except were still here 15yrs later, and it's still as good. It's hot as he'll here at the moment but it's worth it. Congratulations, you're on the last step of a long journey, I can't wait to 'Welcome (you) To Country' 🥰

Ah that's so amazing! We absolutely love Sydney so we can't wait to take the kids and show them where mummy and daddy met 🥰 Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words!
