You're absolutely right. The responsibility for breaking up a family lies squarely with the person who committed the crime, not the jury tasked with delivering justice. It’s important to focus on the facts and hold the guilty party accountable for their actions. Justice isn’t about sparing feelings; it’s about upholding what’s right.

That seems to be a common practice with most mini markets, of any kind. I worked at one, years ago, right after a string of hold ups had started. I was third shift and they said only one person was allowed on third shift, the company thing was *fewer targets make them less likely to shoot.* I responded to that with, "so, somebody comes in, shoots the cashier and they get to bleed out, hoping someone comes in?" I quit and never again would I work for any place that thinks one person is safer than two. RIP Samantha

Leaving your wife of 20 years for a 22-year-old. Smart! Guys, listen: When a woman likes you when you are 40-ish and she is 20-ish, it seems all great. Your ego and blah blah. But, she WILL change fast, while you stay the same. That is an age thing. Nothing out of the ordinary. She can't help it. From the age 20 to 30 we are changing fast and we are still finding out who we are. So, 5 years later, when your lover is 25-ish and you are 45-ish, she has changed a lot, while you are still the same. You still like her, but she is over her infatuation for a long time. This happens all the time. Nothing new to see here. Wake up, get over yourselves and stay faithful.

Yeah, I thought that, too, but, then, Alaska is the land of 24 hours of darkness in winter, so . . . it might not have been really ``night.'' She's making the morning coffee; other times of the year, it would have been sunrise time. But yeah, not a job for her. But generally we do think of those kinds of jobs for teenagers. Should it have been a teen-aged boy, I mean there've been plenty of serial killers who preyed on boys, too. Wrong place at the wrong time; the way I look at it; this force of evil took her, and I have to say when that happens, it is their fated time to go. Like when someone gets hit by a car on the shoulder/sidewalk/storefront . . . if they had been crossing paths only slightly at a different time, they would have lived. You can say that about many deaths deemed ``unnatural.''

#1 She was an adult. Not a young teen under her parents supervision. The comments here about this kinda bother me. Cutting on parents for their ADULT daughter having a very good profitable job.I lived 5 miles up Tudor road from where she was abducted. Alaska is a lil different. Now there are Starbucks. But coffee huts in Alaska are very common, in parking lots, few on the side of the road. Most are drive ups. Some don't serve people who walk up. There's was a few in Anchorage where the girls served coffee from 4:30 am to 8:30 pm or later in Bikinis year round. Those girls made 200 to 600$ a day in tips. Plus full hourly wages. My daughter worked one in Wasilla for a bit in her early 20s. Supported her family off it. These huts are pretty secure. All doors triple lock, most windows are shatter or bullet proof. Emergency buttons, and many there is a weapon in side. You open n close the window and that is it. Samantha was closing. It was like 8pm, Common Grounds was in a large parking lot of several other stores and a few big box stores. Very visible from them and the road. When keys kidnapped her it was literally a perfect storm. He seen her, scoped it out and went ahead with his plan. Almost got caught. We had a blizzard that day. You couldn't see very far. That helped block the view from Tudor Road and others. He was a serial killer, very professional at his trade. He knew the doors were locked. He ordered, then as she was turned pulled a gun and jumped thru the drive up/ order window. Then he walked her out the door. His truck was across the parking lot. She ran once, he tackled her and convinced her he just wanted ransom. He has said there were two times thru it that if it weren't for the weather or people not paying attention he could have been caught.he lived right up the road from there. Killed her that day. Kept her frozen in his shed abusing her body till he drove it out to Matanuska lake and threw it in piece by piece. I've repeated all these details, because it is more likely a woman is gonna get in a car wreck driving to the hit then what happened to her. It's a 1 in a million + chance a serial killer is gonna get you?? So because of your over worrying you are going to hold your child back from. A job that would get them thru college, with a schedule flexible enough to go to school. The more we hide our teens from the real world the more adults we have that don't know how to live, don't know what hard work and reality is. Let your young girls have the SAME opportunities as your boys, when the turn 18 it's not your choice anymore. Yes there are people like Keyes still out there. Nothing we can do, they look and act normal until they don't!
