They also like a lot of the same things, and are quirky and fun.The act is so deliberate, and the justice isn't there. They should have given him life without parole. I don't think anyone on a jury, listening to this evidence, would ever think he was innocent. She made me feel her pain. Bless her 🙏😢

Having read a lot of posts on other vids about this; they knew each other since she was 18. He dumped his current gf for her a couple years later. Two years after that, Kassanndra dumped him when she found out he was cheating on her with the prior gf. Fast forward to 2014 when his father dies. Kassanndra was the only girlfriend he'd ever introduced to his dad, and his dad liked her/hoped she and CPD would marry. So, he reached out to her, as a friend, needing someone he could talk with about his dad. She didn't base friendship on the way someone looked, which is the only way I can explain how she might be with him. ("Affair" is not the correct way to put this, btw. It was made clear, on many other posts by people who knew them, that CPD and his gf, were not monogamous. They dated when she was married, and she was apparently also sleeping with CPD's roommate. He only moved the gf into his house after he learned that Kassanndra was pregnant. I'm guessing he was setting up an alibi?)

Prosecutors don’t seek justice on behalf of the victims or their families. They seek justice on behalf of the jurisdiction in which they are prosecuting, a.k.a “the people”. That means their primary goal is to act in the interests of the citizens, regardless of how it makes the victims’ families feel. Some prosecutors do take their input into account but it’s not a requirement of the job and ultimately they decide what is and isn’t going to move forward. This is why the vast majority of cases never make it to trial. Getting defendants to plea out early is as much of a “win” as convincing a jury of their guilt in trial. They save the tax payers money, clear another case from their load, and move on to the next. It might not seem “right” or “fair” but that’s the only pragmatic solution. If every prosecutor took on a victim’s family’s personal lust for vengeance, cases would build up indefinitely and those charged with crimes would never see a day in court, which would be a violation of their rights. In this case, they likely felt the evidence was insufficient and that the probability of losing was too high. If they had gone to trial anyways and lost, I’m sure you’d be a lot angrier than you are now.

The DA doesn’t determine sentencing, they can only make a recommendation to the court. In the case of a plea it’s a jointly agreed-upon recommendation from both parties. The DA gave a sweetheart deal, true, but ultimately it’s the judge who accepts or rejects the offer. If you want to be mad at someone be mad at the judge, although it’s very very rare that judges reject plea agreements.

Prosecutors very rarely take cases to trial on a hunch, like yours. They use prior experience, statistics, current case load, and other metrics to determine their chance of a successful conviction. Unless the case is a complete slam dunk, the DA has a personal investment, or the defendant refuses a plea, the case is not going trial.

Zero direct evidence. There are jurors out there who will refuse to convict without it.

@@ArdenSinn-oz3hq "Blow it" in what way? They might have turned him loose, in the big, wide, dangerous world rather than tucking him into that cushy Stafford Creek, Aberdeen WA cell where he's running games for his buddies, paying nothing in rent, and essentially living exactly the way he did before. And when he gets out, he'll have over a million dollar nest egg saved up to retire in style, and all on the tax dollars of Kassanndra's family, friends, and loved ones. This case was blown when he was provided with 24/7 police protection until 2044.

Corrupt U$ judicial system. Once the indicted enters a "plea deal", anything they say, including lies, are taken as "testimony", provided they plead guilty. Thus, they can get away with a lighter sentencing.

It saved the corrupt judicial system some extra work, by making him plead guilty and get a lighter sentence.

"It would be hard to get the average person to understand what this data meant." Did they think the jury would consist of people who were 70 and older? Having read other posts on other vids about this, the family wanted this to go to trial because 2 more charges would have been attached, premeditation, and killing a woman he knew was pregnant. Each of those adds another 10 years. So he'd have faced 46 years rather than 26. Plus, a trial might have revealed more names, because a lot of people are convinced he didn't act alone. I think CPD thought the same thing, or he wouldn't have made the offer. Something they skip over is that the prosecutors allowed the killer to take a "Alford" plea deal. (It's in the public court documents.) In a nutshell, it means "I'm innocent, but the prosecutors have all this information that might convince a jury I'm guilty, so I'll just plead guilty, but I'm really innocent." So, Colin Patrick Dudley strolling around Stafford Creek in Aberdeen, claiming to be innocent. That's the real slap in the face to the family, friends, and loved ones of Kassanndra.

"Did they think the jury would consist of people who were 70 and older?" It's not a matter of age but intellectual level. At the same intellectual level, being 70+ might make people less able to understand certains things, compared to the young or middle-aged.

This was a double homicide. Only 26 years? Disgraceful. That won't dissuade the next guy who doesn't ever want children killing his whoopsy child and mom. Definitely a double homicide. A plea deal should need the victim's family's consent before it goes through.

Most people who believe in abortion would not agree that the baby inside her was a person. But it was a person, a person that was growing day after day. Dead things don’t grow. So the baby inside her was very much a live. He deserves to go to jail for two murders!
@jgunn0321 күн бұрын
I'm pro-abortion. I'm anti-life. And I do believe there's a life inside a womb ONLY once a heartbeat can be detected. But, just like blood and organ donation, the contract can be terminated AT ANY POINT in the situation. Doesn't matter if that dude's going to die if he doesn't get my A+ blood. It's my blood and it's my body and I'm not going to be forced to give it. And if something or someone needs to utilize my body to live, then it's all up to me as to whether or not I want to utilize my body to procure or sustain someone else's life. If males could get pregnant, this 'life begins in the womb' nonsense would never have come about. It was started thousands of years ago by males, who, coincidentally, can't get pregnant.

How are prosecutors and police allowed to be so lazy? Do what the family wants you to do. Edit: prosecutors weren’t able to find aggravating circumstances to add charges? Is Washington that liberal? He killed a child as well. Doesn’t the baby add charges? It’s hard to understand how he could get out in 18 years.

Prosecutors don’t work on behalf of the victims or their families. They work on behalf of their jurisdiction and the citizens thereof.
@damienjstepick25 күн бұрын
@ I know, but they almost always consider the family in making such decisions. They’re often willing to spend tax payers money to have trials in election years, so why not grant a family this wish? It often depends on jurisdiction. My comment was an emotional reaction, but I stand by it. It appears the prosecutor didn’t consider the family’s request because the laws are weak and only could’ve added one or two years. They wanted his actions revealed to the world. They wanted him to suffer through the trial.

No, they couldn't. She was dumped outdoors. In a ravine. For a month. In summer. Exposed to the elements, animal predation, etc. According to the court documents, her remains had to be sent to a forensic anthropologist. That means there was very little left of her. You've been told this repeatedly, so there's no need to keep saying this. Do you know how you can tell it was CPD's baby? He MURDERED her. HE seemed pretty sure.
