So true! Not much time left, he said! Once took my dad on a scenic road trip from London, England through the picturesque countryside all the way to Glasgow in Scotland. I am actually envious. My last trip I did with my dad was when I was 26 years old. He passed at the age of 76 when I was 33 years old. This is a trip he would have loved. He was always an adventurer at heart and travelling the trains to Churchill and seeing polar bears would have been a joy. Great advice there “dad” about never saying no to an experience.

With a compromised immune system, I've stayed relatively homebound since late Feb. We did get out to Mount Rainier National Park for a quick day trip and another day trip to Lewis and Clark National Historic site. It has been the best option for our family and while I don't regret this decision, we do miss our adventures. As Thanksgiving has passed us by here in the US I just want to say how THANKFUL I have been for you and your videos. I have shared a time or two ( OK maybe more LOL) but the way you edit, the storytelling, acts of kindness, highlighting the friendly folks you encounter (like Britney) and beautiful and unique places you adventure to have allowed me to escape (virtually). I find myself sincerely getting lost in the videos at times. I remember one ending in a cliffhanger and literally saying NOOOOOO outlaid LOL. For this Mike I am sincerely so grateful. While the reasons you make your videos I'm sure are many, please know they have truly been a gift yo me. Much love

Sunday morning downunder in Melbourne (we've been set free after 8 months) and here you are (a month ago) enjoying a great rail trip with your dad in the wildest part of your country before your second lockdown. Really looking forward to next week with the polar bears. Loved that you shared the train trip with a couple originally from my part of the world (Aussie accent noticed). They must be real adventurers too. And Britney at 4 in the morning!! She really lightened up the trip - what a great advertisement for ViaRail she is! You were blessed to see the northern lights. The southern equivalent turned up in Tasmania earlier this year. Glad that your dad took the opportunity to share this experience with you. I'm sure he was pleased to tick this adventure off the bucket list before it becomes too difficult to travel in adventure style. Now the next prompt from KZbin is to check out Pannier P's clip celebrating Puffing Billy's return to the Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne yesterday, Saturday 28th November. (Pannier P is a young railfan friend and has really taken to KZbin - he's half your age, Michael!) Looking forward to the Polar Bears next week. Stay safe!

Thank you so much for this video, Mike! I had been waiting many years (before the tracks were washed out) to take this trip and I did it in October 2023. It was absolutely amazing. My favourite part - which I hope you get the chance to experience at some point - was the dome car. It was absolutely gorgeous and enhanced by friends who we met from Thompson that brought blankets on board so that we could have almost complete darkness to see the northern lights, something that had been on my bucket list for a very long time. Everyone who loves a great train trip should take this ride. Look forward to watching more videos on your channel!

The only times in my life where I was awake at 4am is when I was partying and I was shitfaced, stoned, drunk and quite out of it. Kudos to Brittany for being energetic, friendly and cute at this odd time of the day.

48 hours! Christ it was only 24 hours years ago. That trip was an eye opener to me. I grew up in Winnipeg but had never been north of Gimli. The scenes along the way of how native people lived will haunt me forever. Just how does one survive besides the tracks in a canvas straight walled tent at 25-35 below plus wind!? I guess in the school or church which looked to be the only decent, warm buildings around. They had their own dangers. I would like to go back and experience the north in a different way but I am old now

Thank you so much for bringing us on your journey! I've always wanted to go further north. The farthest North I've been is Edmonton, but I'd like to go to Iqaluit or something one day. Your dad's advice was on point, and Brittany is amazing! I hope you told her about your channel and she checks out the video to see all the nice comments about her. Such a positive, wonderful spirit. Don't change, Brit!

OMG, what a find, I travelled between Winnipeg and Churchill, several times starting in 1963-66 via CN Rail while I served in the RCN. Fortunately, I was accommodated in Sleeper Class with full dining available. This video certainly brought back fond memories. Thank You.
