Makokoba (pronounced as Ma-Kho-Kho-Ba) was established as Bulawayo’s first black township and places itself on the strides of urban area development in Zimbabwe. Makokoba is a place where history and culture are melded together. Staying on the street in which the first houses where built, we got some time to explore and learn about development and fascinating stories surrounding this township.

~ About Magriza Made Me Cook:
» Magriza is slang for uGogo (Grandmother in isiNdebele) and the name of the show is derived from Prince's inspiration for falling in love with cooking; his grandmother. The goal of MMMC is to document and serve Africa's diverse food culture, one dish at a time. We believe that Africa has got unique meals that ought to be talked about, and most importantly, cooked consistently. We believe in the values of Ubuntu, Respect, Creativity and Minimalism.

As a isiZulu speaker from Durban visiting Makhokhoba I wont have a problem communicating with the people there. Makhokhoba even though is on a flat landscape has a similar set up with the township of Lamontville in Durban although Lamontville is on a hilly landscape. Public drinking places (amabhawa), public markets, swiming pools, man's hostels (abo fourboy), etc. This is all reminiscent of the township of Lamontville and in fact this could be found in many townships in SA. Beautiful Zimbabwe keep it up!

Yhoo ndibukele kakuhle mna ndilapha e Mossel Bay, Western Cape province, South Africa. Enkosi kakhulu maan mhlekazi u Sivalo ngale content, iyasifundisa kakhulu kwaye isivula amehlo thina bantu abangazange balifumana ixesha lofukunda nge culture yelizwe elihle i Zimbabwe, ndiyafuna ukukhe ndikhuphe yonke i family yam siyijikeleze yonke i Zimbabwe, how I honestly long for a time where all these nonsensical borders/ xhenophobic tendencies will be a thing of the past. I'm not trying to funny when I say : why can't we all as AFRICANS live in peace here in South Africa just as we do with Chinese & the others? So I personally believe in my heart that it's the content like this which will assist our current generation in making sure that we refuse to be dividend by these vultures & hyenas who's very mission is to simply extirpate & crush us to the ground as a family, ndiyavuya ke ngoba yonke lento endiyithethayo ndiyithetha as a proud South African who's not affiliated to any political party whatsoever.

These videos are interesting. These people, I assume speak isiNdebele, but it sounds very much like isiZulu. I have heard Ndebele people speak in places like Pretoria, but this isiNdebele sounds very close to isiZulu. I could be wrong. Maybe isiNdebele speakers in South Africa can assist.

This are the people who left Zululand in 1800s with King Mzilikazi kamashobane kamangede kalanga. They settled in Bulawayo Matabeland koMthwakazi.I would say their are cousins of Zulus. That is why their Ndebele is closer to Zulu than the Ndebele in South Africa
