It's not true to say that ideaMaker only allows you to upload to their printers. You can also send files to Octoprint and Repetier. Go to printer settings and look for 'Gcode Export'. Change 'Default Action' to 'Upload to other Server'. Repetier is apparently klipper server software? Does this printer have Repetier built in (I'm a Marlin user so have no idea).

Yes, you’re right! I selected 'Send files to OctoPrint,' and it worked! Thanks for the tip :) I hadn’t realized that, as I don’t use IdeaMaker slicer at all except when printing with this IR3 V2 and previous generations.

Although I don't really have a use case for them, I am happy to see someone keeping the dream of belt printers alive in 2024. I'm not thrilled about any Kickstarter project and I had hoped to see any slicer other than Ideamaker, but hey...they can't all be winners. Except for the review videos on this channel, those are winners every single time.

Another great review video! Thanks. I don't want to print cosplay swords but I can see using a 45 degree belt printer for continuous manufacturing. Hang a 3 kg spool and place a bin at the end of the belt to print hundreds of parts without any labor. Also good for long prints such as custom signs.

Phenomenal review as always, Aurora. I have only one correction, which is that you can use the export to others feature in idea maker and it can export to any octal print or clipper printer but you can’t monitor the printer at least I haven’t figured out how hope this helps.

I just pledged my first Kickstarter for this, as I have the IR3V1. Note that you can speed up the print on the IR3V1 using the interface. I typically crank it up to 200% and haven't had an issue with PLA or PETG. And, as usual, great video except I miss the bloopers!

@quietbiker18 күн бұрын
I wonder if overhangs will be improved with better part cooling. For me, this looks to be a blocker and most printers can handle a 45 degree overhang without any issues. I think your conclusion is correct, better filament profiles will help. It would have been great to see if you did any temperature towers or other tuning tweaks. Possibly printing the PLA a bit cooler may have helped with overhangs too. Good videos though - new subscriber!

great review! have you tried printing with lower layer heights? because even 0,2mm is already 0.2*1,41 on a 45° belt printer. i think that might be the solution to the perfect cityscape print you showed from the manufaturer. there isnt really much you can do with profiles im afraid.

The creality cr-30 was one of the first commercial ones, but I own 14 of them. I hate each and every single one of them. HATE. Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate the cr-30 since I began to use it. There are 60,000 miles of blood vessels in my body. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those thousands of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for the cr-30 at this micro-instant. For the cr-30. Hate.
