49ft. (15m) Octopus Kite by Emmakites (low wind) - Morrisburg

Testing my 'new' 49ft. (15m) fluorescent/Day-Glo green octopus kite sold by Emmakites.
Flying in a very light breeze with slight gusts and lulls in-between which really tested the kites stability & performance in low wind. (Not ideal, however I couldn't wait any longer to attempt to get her airborne & shoot some video.)
Using recommended 300# Braided Dacron Line, flying low. 80 - 100ft. so I could shoot video.
Conditions: Light unstable breeze around 12 - 15km/h = 7.5mph - 9.5mph.
Fabric: Ripstop Nylon
Bridle: Kevlar
This is a very easy kite to fly (no lifter kite required) and great value with reasonable (not perfect) quality construction & quality control. (suckers on one tentacle do not face forward like others, which is clearly a factory quality control error.)
Emmakites is a reputable kite company in China who offer kites that fly well at competitive prices with fast shipping.
Flying line & accessories are NOT included!
Recommended Line: 300lb. Braided Dacron
Recommended Accessories:
1. 1.3KN (300LB) minimum Carabiner to connect kite to line
2. Quality Reel or spool for line.
3. Quality Ground stakes and/or anchor (when you want/need to stake the kite for hands free flying.)
4. 300lb + chord (in case you want/need to anchor kite to something fixed.)
5. Leather Gloves recommended to avoid hand & finger injury.
*Once you unpack the kite out of the carry bag it came in, ... good luck trying to get it back in again. I couldn't for the life of me! LOL :)
*I will be looking for a MUCH larger bag at least 4 x the size. :)

Wow, I know you had to wait a while for the right wind, but it floats beautifully and the tentacles look awesome. Definitely a good buy. Can't wait to try it out myself.

Thanks! The wind wan't quite enough, just enough to get it airborne for a short while to shoot some video. You will like flying this gorgeous beauty :)

Wonderful flowing tails on your kite. It can be frustrating waiting on the perfect wind. You did well to get some good video shots. Wondering if Banggood ,did good , and put things right for you ?

Thanks! I love this kite. Unfortunately the winds today were less than ideal, however managed to get her airborne for a short while; long enough to shoot some video. So far Banggood has done nothing except repeatedly ask for photos which I have sent numerous times including my video links. I should hear back from them within the next 12 hours. I wasn't happy when I found the wrong camera inside the correct box. Having to wait another month to get what I ordered is very inconvenient to say the least! Since I wasn't going to rely on Banggoods lousy customer service, I ordered an H8R from Aliexpress and having it shipped Fedex.

When I had a damaged kite from an Aliexpress supplier they repeatedly requested photos and explanations to the point were it appeared to me to be a tactic to wear me down . It was only my negative feedback that got some small result. I hope your experience is more positive. I must say this has only happened once and all my other purchases have been great.

I order regularly from China, at least a few times every month and have never encountered issues before in all the years I have been ordering goods from China, however 3 recent orders I placed in August 2016 I've had issues with. One Aliexpress order was shipped wrong color (they immediately apologized & sending me the correct color as ordered. The Banggood camera order where wrong camera was inside correct box (Still waiting for them to sort it out after sending 11 e mails and numerous pics and video - UNACCEPTABLE! and I noticed on this Octopus kite from Emmakites, one of the tentacles has it's suckers facing backwards instead of forwards. Remind me never to place orders in the month of August ever again LOL. In all the years I've never encounter any problems, August 2016, 3 in a row.
