Yeah, it's quite a bit of a mix again :) My favorite was the AGR #12 switcher, which was just transferred on that day. A truly lucky catch.

Sure wish I'd known you were going to be in the neighborhood. I'd be glad to give you a guided tour of some of the backwoods spots you seem to have missed, like the multiple S curves between Wawbeek and Flomaton, or the sweeping curve in Perdido, AL, MP 630. A couple small corrections: The drawspan isn't over the Chickasaw River. It's Chickasaw Creek, but it's better known as Chickasawbogue Creek. And the location is "Aladocks". Nicely done!
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
Nice, thanks for pointing out other locations. The day we went to Flomaton was weird as there was hardly any traffic and when they ran the trains, daylight ran out. So Atmore seemed to be a good location for the night filming. I'm glad we stayed there, because the AGR-12 transfer was really a highlight. I actually know that it is the Chickasaw Creek - don't know why I wrote River. I also know it's the Aladocks, but I try to provide information that makes it easier for people unfamiliar with the area to find the spots. Bay Bridge is simply the more obvious landmark. Thanks again., I'm glad you like it.

+mbmars01 Great video of awesome trains. The way that bridge swung around so the ships could get through was really cool. Thank you for showing how those bridges worked, I've always been curious how those bridges worked. Thank you for making your videos mbmars01, with Spring coming now my chronic lower back pain conditions really flare up. When my chronic pain flares up it kicks the shit out of me. Watching your videos really helps me forget about my pain and get through the day. I binge watch your train videos to get me through the day. I haven't properly introduced myself, my name is Patrick. I used to love standing on the side of the tracks and watch the trains pass by. With my chronic lower back pain conditions, Lumbar Spinal Stenosis and Degenerative Disc Disease and the Osteoarthritis I have in both knees I can't do that anymore. Before I found your KZbin channel I would get so depressed that I couldn't watch the trains anymore I would break down and cry. Watching your videos brings a smile to my face. Now that I have found your KZbin channel I can watch the trains go by thru the lens of your camera. You have no idea how much I love watching your videos. I appreciate how much work you put into making your videos.
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
+Snaggletooth75 Hi Patrick, thank you very much for your feedback. You can be sure it is greatly appreciated. I also remember that you have mentioned your chronic pain issues before. I have also been contacted by other people who have health problems that make it impossible for them to be trackside by themselves. I have always done railfanning and videoing for my own leisure, but I thought some people might like the videos so why not sharing them. I never thought, however, that watching these videos might be like a therapy for some who can't go trackside anymore. This gives my ambition and motivation to keep producing these vids an extra push - it gives this doing much more sense. I try to transfer the authenticity of the railfanning experience into the living rooms in the best possible way. Just keep watching :) Thanks again for your comments.

What's the longest train you've ever seen while railfanning? My wife and I were coming back home after grocery shopping. We have to go over a railway crossing on the way home. As I got close to the crossing I heard a train honking it's horn. There was a car ahead of me who was an impatient bastard. By the time he got to the crossing, the crossing gates had come down. This idiot slalomed around the gates, his car was clipped by the train of course. The train came to a stop to make sure that this moron wasn't injured. The driver of the car called the police to report that the train didn't "stop" for him. My wife couldn't believe that this dumbass actually called the police to say that the train didn't stop for him. When the police arrived, this idiot started carrying on that the train should've stopped for him. The police gave this "genius" a pretty big fine for wasting the police officer's time.
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
The longest ones had about 200 cars. The story you experienced is very weird. I can't believe the guy wanted to blame the train for the accident. Doesn't make any sense. He must have been DUI.

The Chickasaw River Swing Bridge turns around when trains leave. This (in Mobile, AL) is pretty-pretty much a HUGE swing bridge for big ships to cross over the bridge. It's like a turntable, am I right again? :D

Have always enjoyed the videos and wish they were 3 hours long and not 30min. lol...That was heck of a lot of firepower being transported over the draw bridge at the end.
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Haha, that's funny. If you knew how much effort it takes to create 30 minutes of high-quality video material... That was a very interesting train. It was nice I had the chance to catch him going over the bridge. I like this spot (as long as my feet stay dry so close to the water with all these tug boats going by and creating waves lol).

Thank you! Yes, it was a BCRail. Unfortunately there isn't much space at Atmore Station and I didn't know it would have this power. Otherwise I had tried to find a different spot, but light was an issue. That's nice you've got a model of it, I think I have seen this "Spirit" unit couple of times before.

Haha, it was quite sweet. While I was filming a woman with a little kid drove by. I would think she was the wife of one of the crew members, wishing godspeed for the journey to Pensacola FL. The kid got indeed very excited. I found this cute and kept it in the video :) I couldn't care about them, however, as I have to fully concentrate on what I'm doing when filming. They had already disappeared when the train had finally passed by.

I use a Panasonic WXF991 momentarily and had a Panasonic HC-V550 before. But it's not just the recording. The careful post-production is equally important and I don't use all material that I tape in the finalized videos at all. Not everything I try while recording works out well lol.

Awesome, you caught the Orlando coal train merging off the PD Sub., unfortunately due to Sunrail all CSX trains in and out of Orlando come in around 11:00pm. What kind of locomotive is 9969, it doesn't look like a F40PH from previous Amtrak years?
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
See, and I didn't even know it. I never really got a fix of his symbol. CSXT #9969 is a GP40WH-2, formerly operated by MARC (Maryland Area Regional Commuter), Penn Central and New York Central. It is truly a unique piece on the CSX roster.

@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
+D&HRailProductions That's mixed of several pieces from the KZbin Audio Library. The main theme is "Invisible" by Vibe Tracks.

Hey quick question if I sent you some clips to use can you make an intro for me... I reaaly need an intro that grabs peoples attention like yours using some of those clips... just let me know and I can send you my email by a youtube message. Just asking I know that might be too much to ask...thanks mbmars01
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
That's funny. How much would you pay for it? The production of a good intro, including finding nice audio sequences, takes about 5-6 hours. So my first estimate would be $300 plus tax lol. Well, seriously, it takes a lot of time but it's not really difficult. If you know how to make a video, you are also able to create a nice intro. The content of the KZbin Audio Library is free.

Did you change any settings on your videos in the past three weeks? Your videos, and a couple of others (but not all) I regularly watch on KZbin, have been freezing up. The sound works fine, but the vdeo keeps freezing. Your older videos, from February 2017 and earlier, are fine, but for the last couple of weeks, the freezing problem started. I have tried different browsers, and have reloaded my flash, but no luck.
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
Hm, what do you mean by freezing? Does the video stop playing at some point? I'm not aware of problems and nobody else has commented on that. Have you tried again after restarting your computer? Also, do you have the possibility to check on other devices if you encounter the same problem?
@Petethefed7 жыл бұрын
Yes, the video stops playing but the audio continues just fine. In the past, all of your videos were fine (and I can continue to watch your older videos without any problem), and videos from other posters run fine, but yours, and a couple of others, have started having the video freeze during play. I have tried my laptop and the same thing happens. I have used Chrome, Firefox, IE, and Opera and the same thing happens. I have also checked my upload and download speeds and they are fine for HD viewing. I just wanted to see if you had made any changes. If not, I guess I either have a problem with my ISP, or both of my computers are crapping out. Can't figure out why some are fine and others aren't, and why it started just a few weeks ago. The more technology moves forward, the more problems crop up.
@Petethefed7 жыл бұрын
Wow. I just started playing this video again today, and it is working fine. No freezing. WTF
@mbmars017 жыл бұрын
It is very weird. I'm using a different software, but the output is the same format (mp4). Also, I think youtube converts it into their own video format. So I think it would rather be that they changed something, which they didn't tell us. I also haven't observed any difference when watching them myself. I'm also sure other people had reported it if they encountered an issue, but you're really the only one who mentioned a problem. I wish I could help, but I don't know how :(
