I’m so sorry you went through this. Ladies please let’s remember short hair is beautiful too!! Short or medium length healthy hair also has value! Let’s not only focus on growing out hair to our waists to prove some point that we can have “beautiful hair.” Often times “long” and “beautiful hair” are in the same sentence and it’s just a sad commentary on perspective. Beautiful hair should be based on health NOT length. ❤️

I love the beauty, the texture, volume and thickness of 4C hair!! Love seeing people wear their hair natural but the protective and creative styles also look even better on 4C hair than my 3C hair. Either way, we all are just trying our best to embrace our natural selves. My sister 4C and I 3C wish we had videos like this when we were young. Just had to figure it out on our own with a few great tips from grandma. Back then ironing your hair with an actual clothes iron was the popular thing and everyone would go out of their way to tell you how much better you looked with straight hair. Those good intentioned compliments do a number on your esteem. Great to see you loving yourself. Your hair is stunning and clearly so versatile!! 😍 That green shirt with the dress outfit I loved btw Ofcourse we all look damn good with straight hair but natural hair is wow 👌🏽 And it's women embracing their natural hair texture that makes me turn my head and want to compliment them. I went natural over a year ago and try as I might I can’t love my 4c hair. 😔 I want to but what I really want is a loose curl pattern that I can actually work with. I’m soo tempted to go back relaxed but I will say my hair is soo much healthier now. I’m still trying to love it though.

Your probably trying to make your hair do things it don't want to do.. Try not to fight with ur hair. Love it for what it can do instead of what it can't do. Never compare ur hair with any one else. Find the right ingredients/products (through trial & error) that your hair responds well to. Aloe vera, shea butter, fenugreek, argan & avocado oil are my holy grail ingredients. I have fine thin very coily 4b/4c hair. Been natural since 2010, however I have 14inches of hair. I know how to make my hair grow fast out the roots, but my hair breaks easily; where I lose my length. So now I'm 95% protective styling. Im seeing super growth in the last yr after finally accepting my hair does not like being touch..lol.. Love and listen to our hair. Your focus should be healthy hair, moisture and growth/retention. Hope this helps ur journey! 💙

I have a slightly looser curl pattern (I'm 4a)...it's not easier. If you don't do it just right, it's a frizzy hot mess, and you look like a bird's nest 😫. I wish I had 4C because 4C hair always looks so neat and perfect in its afro state (i only wear my hair in an afro)🥰. Grass is always greener...lol. like the lady said above. Just accept what it can do, and you'll love it.

Been there. I’m not 4c but my hair is type 4. I been natural 5 long years and every natural hair method I have done it lol. Until I found out what works for my hair only and what my hair loves and what my hair hates. I would find myself crying because I wanted so bad to love my hair for what it was but I was struggling to do so. Recently I decided to just have a talk with my hair yess I literally had a heart to heart with myself and got emotional. Ever sense that self talk with my self I was able to fully accept my natural hair and everything it was and wasn’t. It really worked and I’m so in love with my natural hair and wouldn’t change it for the world 🌎 you will get there mamas when YOU are ready to. You have to make that choice once you’re ready. Remember keep your head up and be positive to yourself ❤️

I'm not an expert on locs. So take this with a grain of salt. But I personally would avoid using the aloe mixture on your locs. I'm not sure if it would all be able to wash out, and I'd hate for that to be stuck in your hair. But the rosemary mixture should be fine.
