I had a nightmare that these threads were being turned into a big budget Hollywood horror/thriller. I was watching the trailer. It was mostly ominous sounds flashes of graphic orgies and giggles from lady boys but the end scene was dead silent. A door slowly creeks open. The situation with the girl reminds me of "The Taming of the Shrew" by Shakespeare. A non-proper woman is brainwashed into being an ideal wife. The comparison's not perfect but you can see similarities. That whole situation just kind of seems f***ed up. A father ordered his legally adult and independent daughter (18 years old) kidnapped and brainwashed for an arranged marriage. (based on the fact that she was said to have a bad relationship with her father and the whole club thing, you can assume it's an arrangement). I mean, the girl was a spoiled brat and a horrible person, but does being an a-hole really justify brainwashing? Her old self was pretty much eradicated, the educational method of brainwashing (which is what would be used in that situation, it's the most extreme type) involves weeks of isolation and reeducation to break down the victim so they can be built back up by the brainwasher as almost an entirely new person, it's scary shit. What seems to have happened, the father was a controlling abuser (ordering a kidnapping and brainwashing) who was marrying his daughter off in an arranged marriage he had no right to do and brainwashed his daughter to do it (again, she was 18, a legal adult who can make their own choices, even if that is bad).
