I meant to comment on this ages ago. While I wasn't a fan of Twisters on a regular screen, I later saw it on National Cinema Day (usually, a Saturday in Aug/Sept just before kids go back) in 4DX when tickets were a lot cheaper. I'm sure my chair was ramped up to ELEVEN, because it rocked so much that if I hadn't slunk down in my chair a bit and put one foot on the floor to steady myself, I'd have been thrown out of it! 😲 Also during the big scenes, I had to grip the arms so much that I got a bruise on one arm! Later, they had Twister in 4DX, and I went back for that, but in my usual chair, and while it felt a bit more normal, it was still very rocky, although I know I was flinching more than usual, as I was expecting it to be stronger than it turned out. Both films have certainly been popular for the format, though, so I expect they'll come back when there's a lull in the film schedules again.

Thanks for commenting! Yeah, I haven't watched Twisters without 4DX but I do enjoy the movie... I'm wondering if that would change if I watched it without 4DX. Yeah, both Twister and Twisters are insane in the format lol. That's crazy you even got bruises. Yeah, so I found Twister even crazier than Twisters but each auditorium is different.

@@theupsidedan Twisters without 4DX is just tedious. You realise just how obvious it is that no-one can act (well, Powell is good in Hit-Man), and how bad the script is. At least Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt made for a great team. Regarding the auditorium, it can even depend on the seat. I knew for Twister I was in one that behaved, but for Twisters, as National Cinema Day screenings always book up fast, I had to take what I could get, and at the time, I was just glad of a central seat. I have previously sat in the one that's in front of the good seat, and that was also fine, so it's just a rogue seat that was the problem. I tried complaining to Cineworld, but they just replied, "Oh, you didn't sit properly in it". Basically, they don't care. They got rid of their phone and email customer service staff, so it's obvious they're on their way out. I'd be happy if Odeon took them over when the time comes.

Good review. I'm seeing it on Monday and the only way I got to experience it was "Twister: Ride it Out" at Universal Studios Florida back in the day. It was a great special effects show, and 4DX should not fail at taking me inside an F5 cyclone.

I miss the Twister attraction at Universal! I was very young when I went on it. I miss the Jaws ride as well lol. What did you think of Twister in 4DX?! Thanks for commenting!

This was fantastic in 4DX. As much as I like Twisters. The original tops it In 4DX and overall as a movie. It's been years since I've seen the original so this was a amazing way to relive this film. My theater was clapping multiple times through out the film. 👍👍

I saw both back to back in 4DX. The original movie definitely got shakier in 4DX at Regal. Anytime anyone was driving the seats were always moving. I wish the new Twisters had this effect as well. I still had a great time with both.

1996 Twister in 4DX was definitely better than 2024 Twisters in 4DX. I expected Twisters to have more effects than Twister, but it was a let down. Even the storms were mediocre compared to 1996 Twister.
