Well, record labels are slowly dying these days. They're also being hurt quite a bit by COVID, so they're not something a lot of musicians are currently investing in. I am flattered, though.

Record labels come with the unfortunate side-effect of licensing agreements, with the potential problem that you can't publish the work yourself in a way that you know will reach your audience. And, of course, you don't own the specific recording of the album made under that label, which means that, in the event that you want to publish it yourself, or include it in another album, unless the record company gave you permission for free, you would have to arrange your own recording or have it done by another recording studio. These days, the best way to support independent musicians is through directly paying them through whatever platform they might use, in addition to buying their albums/singles.

Hi 4everfree, this song in particular touched me, not only because it's just top notch, but the lyrics fit with a story I'm writing about these four characters in the picture.
