I can’t express how much I love this. I love the Eagles so much, and a cover of one of my favorite characters just makes me love it more. Honestly, your music has made me love AJ. I used to find her annoying but after hearing the few songs you’ve done of AJ, she’s become my favorite. It’s just so emotional and melancholy, and the instrumentals and your voice just makes it so calming and nice. I could listen to this song and the original all day.

I never liked AJ until I realized I have a real life friend who is exactly like her (but a regional manager instead of a farmer). Having that "oh shit, I know that person" element to put all of her weirdness into focus makes it makes sense. She stopped being a weird caricature because I now had a frame of reference for that kind of addiction to work and fear of not being able to handle everything, or not getting things done or failing to have everything wrapped up.

While listening to this song, I finally realized why none of the "alternative timelines" created by Starlight Glimmer in the season 5 finale had AJ´s parents alive -> She was in Manehattan at the day of the Rainboom BECAUSE they died already [the Oranges either "asked" for her to become their adoptive daughter, or she "took this oportunity" to leave Ponyville (they living in Manehattan was just "convenient")]. While we do not know the details of their deaths, one thing is clear -> There were no bodies left to be buried [my headcanon: they were eaten (likely by timberwolves)]. I base this on the fact that ponies DO bury their dead & there is a cementery on Ponyville (both seen onscreen on "Hearts and Hooves Day" [S2E17] ); plus Applebloom saying she discovered _"something to remember them"_ (the intertwined trees) in "The Perfect Pear" [S7E13]; implying that the Apple Family did not have already their tombs to do it. Then, the only way for Applejack to "have her cake [parents] & eat it too [Element of Honesty]"; will require some _"Steins;Gate"_ levels of Deception (how ironic!). -> [Timetravel, ilusions, forced teleportation and ponynapping to the future]; with the bonus (for the animators) that they will not even need to age their character models (since they will be jumping fordwards almost the entire lifetime of Applebloom); since keeping them alive and hidden (the "slow path") would too painfull and sealing them in stone and hidden (or frozen in time on Limbo) will be too convoluted.
