How the LTE Filter Improves TV Antenna Reception - Cellular signals on frequencies adjacent to the ones used for TV broadcasts can interfere with TV reception. ... An LTE filter is designed to stop interference by aggressively.

I had to use 2 filters. One for cell phone tower interference the other a FM trap for 2 FM radio stations. I can see the top of the cell tower looking out the back window about a block away. It's about 20 degrees to the left of where my antenna is pointed. The FM stations are so strong you can hear them just touching the plug on a guitar amp without a radio. The radio stations are about 1/8 mile away. The filters do work. If I take them off I can't watch TV.

Glad you brought this up. It is an issue for some. I am almost even in elevation with the top of a tower a quarter mile north. I am on a flat hill in the Ozarks with towers close, but dont seem to have trouble. I do have a station 35 miles to the north that is nbc that is hard to get but mainly due to the hills of nw Arkansas. We have pbs to the south thats vhf 13. This is irritating bc you need a dipole to get it in some areas. Your channel is VERY HELPFUL. You did a lot of testing, trial and error and lots of time videoing. I wanted to test one of the LTE filters just to see if it allows more tv signal in. Thanks a million for your work !

This is very good information. You tell people how to make directional antennas. And as you have shown that closes off the backside of the antenna and pushes the game forward. The same thing will happen for the directional antenna and a cell phone tower. You hope the cell phone tower is not directly in line with the TV stations and if it is not the reflector will help narrow your pattern also known as BB game. Directional antennas are good at eliminating or at least reducing unwanted interference.

I was having trouble with interference from a cell tower. My antenna is in the attic. It's a multi directional antenna that I cobbled together from pvc pipe and aluminum tubing. I added a Channel Master Amplify filter/amplifier (not like the one in your video) and it works great. It was giving me fits until I added the filter. Thanks for your videos.

Log-periodic TV antenna might be better, but I dunno what kind of band USA uses. Ours were quite wide, wide-band antenna's were more adapt for it (keyword were, because neither EU nor Russia does analog broadcast anymore, since 2019) , but they catch GSM easier if there is something for signal to reflects from. TV signal is horizontally-polarized, that's why TV antennas have channels aligned horizontally, GSM\LTE\Wifi are naturally vertical, but that can change because of reflections. This antenna looks like an unholy hybrid of zigzag antenna and bipole

If anyone thinks Danny should try building this style of antenna give him a thumbs up here 👍 Here’s kinda what I was suggesting thinking as a challenge for you Danny. That picture of the cell tower is exactly what I wanted to suggest as an ultimate rich mans antenna, however your antenna designed with up to five sections mounted around a pole facing all directions, antennas facing north, south, east, west, north east, north west, south west and south east, that antenna would be huge facing in 8 directions, 360-degrees. Here in Washington, D.C. we have tv stations in Baltimore, Maryland, Arlington, Virginia, and in downtown Washington, D.C. we are just outside of Washington, D.C. about 3 miles into Maryland we can’t get the Baltimore stations unless the antenna is turned towards the northeast towards Baltimore, Maryland, and then turn it again to the south west to get Northern Virginia tv stations, this is why I think your tv antenna design might work with 2, 3, 4, or 5 of your antennas mounted on a single pole to pickup the signals possibly as far away as Chesapeake Bay, US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland possibly even some Eastern Shore of Maryland tv stations, i think it might be possible to get tv stations from as far away as Pennsylvania, which is right above Maryland. I’m curious how many more tv stations your antenna would pickup signals from. Peace Crazyhorse ✌️

@@deepsouthvideos7120 Danny, I think it would be called, what is known as Omni directional antenna, The Danny S. Hodges Custom Omni Direction Digital TV antenna, something I could never afford, but if I hit the Lotto I will be coming to see you Danny for the ultimate ultimate omni directional TV antenna. LoL. Peace Crayhorse.

I'm just a local construction contractor laborer far from an antenna man..... in the Mississippi Delta. Poorest area in the poorest state. I have been installing Antennas for extremely poverty stricken residents. I don't charge a single penny to the customer. I supply everything myself with my own personal money.. I have been building the Danny Hodges ultimate antennas for them. Question I have is....I have a client that I installed antenna for. He is running about 50 ft of coaxial no booster. All towers are 50 miles away. He was getting channels I would describe as semi reliable. So I hooked him up with a RCA preamp. And it made all the channels worse. He has like 3 cell phone towers less then half a.mile From his home. I can see them plan as day. When I hooked the pre amp up it made all the channels way worse. I'm thinking it's the cell towers basically in His back yard. Like it's boosting the LTE interference. Is it possible that the pre amp is amplifying the LTE interference? Do u think a LTE filter would help in this situation ?

Danny, you hit the nail on the head. The FCC has sold the band above channel 37. I Think T-Mobile owns most of it now. Existing TV channels are being “repacked”. It won’t be complete nationally until 2020. Your area must have been one of the first to change.

Basically you by the 4G filter put it on and it should block the mobile phone interference

Danny I like to share an app that locates your TV towers for pointing your antenna and lists the channels that are available. Easy to use on your smartphone. I downloaded from Google play store it's called DTS Antennas.

I have done research online and found out if you get 5G interference you need a different filter for 5G interference I could be wrong thanks
