Hi Giselle - I have a feeling that they are owned. We say some stray cats while we were there, but even then, noticed that many people left food out for them or even supplied shelters and beds.

What was your overall impression of Athens? Have you witnessed any crimes, drug use, people begging or mugging? Is the city clean in general, or you've seen garbage and drug parafernalia walking around? Cheers.

I have to say our impression was very favourable, and we noticed none of the above. Just an interesting, diverse and friendly place. We'll be adding more of Athens in the next few weeks, so if you feel like free subscribing you'll get to see the different areas. Hope that's helpful?
