Mr Pilot, a quick question. In relation to the Boeing 737NG's EFIS and the integration of its ADIRU (Air Data Inertial Reference Unit) with other avionics systems, can you provide an in-depth analysis of how the SMYD (Stall Management Yaw Damper) system processes data from the ADIRU, particularly during high AoA (Angle of Attack) situations? Furthermore, considering the impact of recent MCAS (Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System) updates, how does the aircraft's FCC (Flight Control Computer) prioritize and resolve potential conflicting inputs from multiple sensors, specifically when there are discrepancies in AoA vane readings?
@flymax Жыл бұрын
Brother I love your question!:) Well, ADIRU's get the info from the gyros, accelerometers and air data module inputs as well as pitot static systems. The air data modules convert pneumatic pressure to electrical signals and send that data to the ADIRU's. The two alpha vanes measure the angle of attack relative to the air mass. SMYD computers determine when stall warning is required based upon alpha vanes outputs, ADIRU's outputs, anti-ice controls, wing configurations, air/ground sensing, thrust and FMC outputs. Once the discrepancy is detected between conflicting inputs from multiple sensors MCAS is automatically deactivated. Thank you for your comment! I feel like that's a good topic for a video:)

This is the first time I am seeing the auto pilot working the yoke pretty good before auto pilot disengagement. And I never seem to hear audio call outs once on the ground before. Like how much runway is left and intersection points on airport grounds

Very nice. But still thinking about speed 163 and flaps 15.....If I do that in flight sim I'll get BUFFET ALERT. hmm
@flymax Жыл бұрын
Well, the speed bug was just above the Flap15 manoeuvring speed (around 155kt) so 163kt is just fine and no buffet alert should take place. Try in a sim and please let me know) is It PMDG?
@jakobhermann6475 Жыл бұрын
@@flymax Thank you for your answer. Yes It is PMDG 738. I dont get BUFFET ALERT everytime, but just sometimes. Thats why this is even more interesting for me. How I understand PMDG 738 that 163 speed is to low for flaps 5 and I should have already flaps 15 at this speed. There is ofcourse important what weather conditions are ? (if Im correct)
@flymax Жыл бұрын
@@jakobhermann6475 oh I see where the problem is) there is a flap extension schedule that you can find in PMDG materials, which states that you can select Flaps15 at Flaps5 speed tape display. And of course 163kt is too low for Flaps5 and you will get a buffer alert. Not so much weather, but the weight of the aircraft.
