I flew on the same route expect in reverse I think it’s just the catering needs improvement it was a morning flight, I had dimsum as my meal, as a Hong Konger I definitely don’t want people to think this is what dimsum taste like,. While the service from the crew members was good in my experience. Reading the comments I guess it’s just a roulette of you getting good crew service I guess.

Wow that is hell of lot better then last time I flew CX from SIN it was in T1 and lounge ok but nothing like this one - OK it was 12 years ago - time has flown. See now they use the old long haul herring bone seats - when I flew they were 2 by two in comfortable “arm-chair” style seats. Hmm-used to have Billercart-Salmon Champagne on the flights - it is now only long hauls? IFE now more responsive was the old Panasonic control system one side IFE other side telephone (did any body use the as a phone?)

Those seats are roomy and comfortable. You'll def enjoy it too! I remember those IFE with telephone but I haven't seen anyone use it, such a mystery 😆😆

This is a set up, Cathay business is now definitely the worst out there, on a recent flight from HK to Manchester, I was served the main course only and one drink, when I queried this, they said that on night flights only the main course is served, the cabin staff are also very rude and pretend not to speak English, I will never fly with them again.

Guess they still need to work on there service consistency. For the meals, it could be the case on night flights people just want to sleep so the menu is simplified. I experienced pretty much the same as you described on night flights with other airlines and was left hungry - but was told people want to sleep so I should have eaten before gotten on the flight 🤨
