I flew that exact same trip 1st class yesterday. It’s a pretty accurate representation. I fly Emirates 1st from NZ to London return about 6 times a year. A couple of comments: 1. Yes the food & drink is top-class but when you fly so much, what you appreciate most is the simple quietness and privacy of 1st class service. And being able to get what you want when you want. I mostly sleep. 2. You asked about what happens if you get turbulence in the shower. Step 1 is sit on the seat in the shower. Step 2 is you quickly grab the towel and return to your seat in your suite. 3. You missed the best bit which comes from flying 1st with a connection. In Dubai as you exit the aircraft you get greeted by a personal escort who guides you through the airport - including riding on a buggy if it’s a longer transfer - and fast-tracks you through security directly to the 1st class lounge. The London-Dubai flight is only 6-7hrs which is too short to enjoy all the comforts and get a good sleep. I prefer the Dubai to Auckland leg which is about 17hrs - this is enough time to enjoy the amazing service and still get 10-12 hrs deep sleep. 😊 You also get a chauffeur car service picking you up from home and dropping you off at the other end. If you reach Platinum status there are also some additional benefits - which are not openly published but you get told in a personal letter from the Emirates Chairman when you reach Platinum - which are very useful and makes flying Emirates 1st the nearest thing to flying via private jet. I’ll be doing it all over again in about 6 weeks time…

What I don't get is people's obsession with food on planes... no offence but whether it's a free ticket, redemption, business paying for it or paying full price, airplane food is just average at best. If one can afford to pay full price, they should find the food to be terrible! As you can get a great meal for $500pp which is a fraction of the cost of the plane ticket and would blow airplane food out of the water. Ps. I travelled for 6 years internationally flying at least once a month for work (so free), business paid for business class seats, but flying so much i had top status on multiple airlines, and after about 6 months, all the novelty wore off, I skipped most of the meals and I couldn't wait for the journey to end.

I, as an Emirates Cabin Crew Member, I did something ridiculous that I don't think anyone did as a Cabin Member. I worked for 2 years just to get enough money to buy my self a 1st Class ticket to experience this as a passenger and it was incredible what we do for the passengers. I absolutely love this job! P.S: at 23:30 you just flew over my home country, Hungary. 🇭🇺 This is so awsome.!

And if they were a little smart, you would have an internal forum where cabin crew could sign up for unsold first class seats, last minute, so that you could cycle through the experience. 40 minutes before landing the cabin crew MUST start preparing for landing, that entails stowing everything away, securing the cabin etc. 20 something minutes after that when the aircraft starts descending everyone must be seated and everything needs to be secured. The one and a half hour *last orders* give enough time for crew to heat up the food, prepare and set up everything nicely for you, give you time to finish your meal, and for them to collect and dispose/stow everything back before they need to commit to their safety pre-landing duties. :)

Great vlog Tim..ty...🎉I saved hard and flew Emirates Business to see my dtr in Perth WA...it was FABULOUS...could not fault a thing. I payed 3K and that was about 8 years ago... 1st Class looked amazing,as I have mobility issues I think if I ever go again..1st, as it will be much more comfortable ✈roomy and accommodating 🎉

Thanks for the insight Tim, I've never tried 1st class & only flew with Emirates for the first time last week to Dubai & it was a cut above the budget airlines, also chucking it down with rain when I got there + holding pattern for an hour, keep up the good work.

The hot towel given to passengers on flights are actually for the ears, the heat opens up the earways and prevents that, sometimes, painful pressure in the ears when the plane starts going down for landing. But it always puts a smile on my face when I see people use it in the face ☺️🤷♀️
@siaitsme68009 ай бұрын

@@richardkenney9433 That's interesting. May I ask for what purpose? I mean what purpose is the dry heat of the towel meant to serve for the face and hands? I am sincerely curious. And thank you so much for your service as a flight attendant for 30 years, it's a tough job ❤️

FROM A SMALL East Texas town ( as I view ), to a world class first-class airline flight is not only visually and emotionally informative but harkens back to romantic transatlantic Zeppelin flights and cruise ships of yesterday. Always well done, sir. You're the 007 of travel exploration. With this flight: SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED!

The First cabin is really nice, especially the one on the 777 aircraft from Stansted. You feel like you`re the only one on the plane as you see no one once your door is closed. Top food and drink. Its not as expensive as some Vloggers say. On average you`re looking at £6k in first to most routes and £4k in business from the UK.
