Presented in 4K UHD! During my 3 weeks in Canada, I ventured all around the Greater Toronto Area, especially the Niagara Region in the Southern part of Ontario. In this region, running between Hamilton and Niagara Falls, is the Canadian National Grimsby Subdivision. Not nearly as busy or popular as other rail lines in Southern Ontario, the Grimsby Subdivision is a unique section of line with a limited number of rail traffic.
I caught all 3 railroads that use the Grimsby Subdivision during the various times I visited around the Niagara Region. Starting off in the Stoney Creek area, CN 550 is seen switching and connecting to some centerbeam cars at Millen Road. Classic Canadian power on these local trains, not often you can see chop nose GP9's still running on the mainline! Heading over to Grimsby next, Amtrak Maple Leaf #63 passes by the Grimsby Via/Amtrak station without stopping (no passengers to drop or pick up). Also caught a GO Niagara Falls Weekend train, CN #422, and another view of Amtrak #63 passing through Grimsby at Nelles Road. Moving onto Beamsville now, a late running CN 421 roars through the farm country of the Niagara Region. Lastly, caught CN 422 passing through the St. Catharines area (Merriton), by the Welland Canal.
Stay tuned all month for even more videos from the Toronto area!
Thanks for watching! Enjoy!
