I am still to try an SL8, but one day i'd like to have a go on one!

Hello Luke, when mounting the front derailleur, is there a thread in the frame? Or do you screw the screws directly into the carbon? Best regards

I think white is one of the best colours if you are going to buy this bike.
@LukeMichaelJames Жыл бұрын
I totally agree. I think as well that if the bike is a size 54 or below it really does look great, especially in this colour. Personally I don’t like the bulge but it’s not as bad on the smaller frames in this colour

Note- white is generally the heaviest paint.

do you preffer the Colnago or Tarmac ?
@LukeMichaelJames Жыл бұрын
I haven’t ridden the Tarmac apart from having a quick roll up the driveway of the Specialized HQ for 1 minute so I can’t really say which I prefer in terms of ride, but in general I prefer the colnago. I’m just more excited about handmade craftsmanship and Italian styling but the tarmac I have no doubt will be a great bike. Just to confirm the Tarmac isn’t my bike, this was just a build shoot. :)

Beautiful build mate! You are a very skilled mechanic.... I had one question: what kind of bleeding set are you using, especially the syringes... The ones from shimano that i have are in very bad condition and need to be replaced :( Cheers!
@LukeMichaelJames Жыл бұрын
Hey Lars, just unfortunately I am not the mechanic but I will ask him what set he uses. This was not the main setup he normally uses because we were doing this build at Specialized and had to travel with a lot of tools. I will find out though when I am next with the team at J’s Cycles

I think I agree with you dude! Still a nice piece of kit but I do prefer the 7
@alex-murphy Жыл бұрын
Aesthetics or ride? If aesthetically, then what's the big difference? I've looked at both bikes, and it isn't easy to spot much difference.
@co7013 Жыл бұрын
I don't like that bike. The SL6 looked good and so did the SL7. But this.. Also being that lightweight makes no sense. And as Lotte Kopecky showed you can become world chain on an SL7.
@LukeMichaelJames Жыл бұрын
I think the SL7 is the nicest one too

A whole wall of tools, but uses a multi-tool...

Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to touch those tools. This was shot at Specialized HQ as part of the launch but we had to bring a skeleton tool set ourselves.

Don’t judge me! We had to build this bike exactly as we took it apart because it was a demo bike for the launch

Not sure what is wrong with tubes. Most people still use them.
