Manchester´s cityscape is absolutely amazing, do not think many cities in europe or north america can beat today´s mancs. Missed the beautiful Mersey Gateway Bridge stretch though. Thank you very much

It is a very impressive city these days! Also where is the Mersey Gateway Bridge?

The North’s two greatest cities have a rivalry. Manchester has better new architecture but Liverpool has better old architecture. This is an interesting video.

Nice video. Love Liverpool. Some stunning places there. Some massive developments in the pipeline. Hopefully Liverpool can deliver on the new film studios and if Liverpool Waters gets built the place will look incredible. That city has enormous potential.

I would love to see more architectural masterpiece in Liverpool like Paris, Prague or St Petersburg. Buildings that looked like a section of a city that you would normally called "Old Town or "Historic Quarter", with at least 5 storey in height. Liverpool need to be aggressive in it's development and built important projects that gets the world attention > like a Film Studio, Television City Center, High Tech Center, A Stock Exchange, Rebuild St Luke Church- same spot, A Financial Hub with at least seven 60 storey buildings like "The City" in London, A Six Lane Bridge over Merseyside or a huge sculpture or statue next to the new Everton stadium like Liberty Statue in New York, Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janerio or the two Horses Head in Scotland. Just build something beautiful; it's already a beautiful city, it just need an extra push!!!

Why Liverpool won't build more highrise buildings and more grand buildings like the Three Graces?

Consider being watching from the states the greater San Francisco, Bay Area and Los Angeles area just so much bigger and you’re still in the metro area after 35 miles

Nice video. Two very contrasting cities. In my opinion I would find Manchester too big and a bit overwhelming all those tall buildings would make me feel hemmed in. Liverpool being much smaller and more low to mid rise would have, I feel, a more welcoming and intimate vibe. Lots of interest in both cities though and amazing that they are almost joined together a bit like San Fran/Oakland, Dallas/Ft Worth.

Liverpool and Manchester are roughly the same size. I get what you're saying though. Manchester City centre is much more built up than Liverpool.

@@markdoherty8161 sorry i beg to differ. according to my research the city of manchester is about the same size as the city of liverpool but manchester metro is about twice the size of liverpool metro - greater manchester 2.8 million, merseyside 1.5 million

@@speedtriplerider7853 Greater Manchester is the region name. It was very controversial when the government changed the name in the 70s. A lot of the nearby towns are towns in their own right and are not part of the city of Manchester. The new Liverpool City Region is said to have around 2.2 or 2.4 million depending on what source you read. Both city's populations are a bit sketchy. I think Manchester's population and size are greatly exaggerated to be much bigger than it actually is. Liverpool on the other hand is much bigger than people think. Anyone who knows Liverpool well enough knows that the city was screwed over by the government in restricting its city boundaries and the city is much bigger than many people think.

@@speedtriplerider7853 Wikipedia? Come on? Really???? I've been to both cities and have a fair idea of both. The point I'm making, clearly, is about the actual cities. Manchester City Council admitted years ago that they would exaggerate Manchester in terms of its size in order to gain more funding/investment. You can't class places like Wigan, Stockport, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale etc as Manchester. They're all towns in their own right. Even Salford is a city in its own right. We're talking about the city remember? All these towns belonged to Lancashire and Cheshire respectively before the government changed (against their wishes) to Greater Manchester.
