Some good footage. Feather River Canyon is pretty amazing. Thanks for this. (Perhaps keep the titles up longer, I can't read 'em that fast.) I wonder why a grain train would terminate in Modesto? Surprising amount of BNSF traffic, and I didn't know the highline was used so much.

Post Foods used to have a Modesto cereal plant (actually in Ceres, CA). But it closed 8 years ago in 2013. I don't know when this video was shot, but it is instructive to note that this is Vol 5.5, and Vol 5 still has a link (URL), but it is broken: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m17aaGeripuUh7c . So I don't know.

The container trains are probably mostly westbound and thus mostly empties. High priority, loaded eastbounds likely go over Donner. Keddie Wye and William's Loop are amazing. I believe Keddie Wye has a third leg through a tunnel.

My guess: probably from a mine in Utah or Colorado and going to a port on the coast for export?
