And I was just done explaining to my wife that landing in water is to be avoided at all cost, even when shallow. Well, but you guys are at another level. Stay safe.
@AndreaGhidiniHangGliding2 жыл бұрын
Well, I agree with you, especially if we're talking of sea or wavy waters. In this case it was planned/contemplated option, so, no surprise

@@AndreaGhidiniHangGliding Yes, we can also see that in your other videos where you aim for the lake. As a viewer, the relief comes a bit later. 😉 What do you do with the reserve?

When I saw the word "cliff" in the title I new it would be awesome 😀 I was not dissapointed. Great video edit and music. Also nice with the drone shots. 👍You guys are becoming addicted to the adrenaline rush of diving off vertical cliffs 😲 Has this cliff been flown from before with a HG ? Beautiful location. More of this stuff please 👌Cheers.

Hey Jan, it's all thanks to your inspiration ! I'd like to add more drone shots but it's not that easy... For what I know we are the first pilots to dive fro there, even if somebody already soared over there. We'll try to deliver some more adventures like this one ;-) And of course, thank you

So wonderful music, wonderful drone pics, great. But what for these wheels when landing in water😆

I think that you never now where our how you'll land, so wheels are always the best choice in my opinion

Cool as always. I’m sure you all took out your calculators to to figure a close shoreline arrival in the shallows which I’m sure you took into account. Nothing wrong with shallow water landing so long as it’s not turbulent surf. My question is on that flight, why did you fly with a chute since you would not have a chance of effective use. Perhaps it was laundry time for them - Wash, dry and fold. ;-)
@AndreaGhidiniHangGliding2 жыл бұрын
Right question.... The answer is, we thought we made it to the shore 😅😅 so we both opened and refolded the chute, next time we'll take it off...

Awesome bro! Launches were great but I thought you'd make it to shore :) almost zero wind eh.
@AndreaGhidiniHangGliding2 жыл бұрын
I thought too but even if tailwind was light, it made me loose a lot of altitude on launch leaving me with roughly 50/55 meters from the water with a 180 turn to do and a very light headwind to reach the shore. So, no surprise 😉
@BariFPV2 жыл бұрын
@@AndreaGhidiniHangGliding yes Sir, you dove on launch and your turn was a lot lower than that of Luca's. But what a place and what an adventure.

...new perspective, beautiful compilation, interesting though - your glide ratio was almost the same as Luca's one, I thought Topless glider would make it to the beach for this particular day and wind speed and direction.
@AndreaGhidiniHangGliding2 жыл бұрын
Well, it was my thought too, when I saw Luca landing spot I was like "ok, easy task for me !" But then I am soon as I took of I realized that my dice was way deeper, my better glider ratio helped to do some meters more anyway but not too much

With tailwind on take off and headwind to reach the shore like that day I think so. Anyway we'll be back with better conditions to succeed
@Liger._King2 жыл бұрын
No wind at all, otherwise it'd be able to clear the water edge. Nonetheless, a great video.
@AndreaGhidiniHangGliding2 жыл бұрын
Descending tail wind on take off made us lose a lot of altitude and made the trip to the beach a bit harder. We'll try again with the correct wind !

Just another aspect of this to consider - I am certain that this demonstration of a marginal flight (from the get go) would not sit well with a local Aviation Authority, should this video be put in front of them. With a sport that is losing momentum globally for a myriad reasons, the last thing it needs is this type attention being drawn to it. A water landing would be an 'incident' at least 🤔
@AndreaGhidiniHangGliding2 жыл бұрын
A water landing is a water landing, we do it at least twice every year by choice.
@TheFjordflier2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think any Aviation Authority anywhere would even lift their eyebrows regarding this video. And videos like this is imo keeping this sport alive. There are already too many un-interessting hg videos out there,showing boring flights in boring sites/locations. IMO 😏 cheers.
