Nice new 330 Neo. Def my favorite 330 variant. Thats a lot of airplane for a route Alaska uses a 737 on.....I APPROVE!!!! I love when airline set their widebodies up with just two seats on the outside! 2x4x2 is the best layout IMO....no middle seat and everyone has a min of 1 person to step over to get to the aisle.awesome takeoff......im sure the landing will be just as spectacular. Kudos as always!

Having seats on the outside would be very very windy and strapping a seat onto the wing would affect the aerodynamics. Well that's prob the last of my bad jokes for 2024 😂

So funny to see how quiet the A330 is during takeoffs and landings. Look at some of the KZbin videos of L1011s landings at HNL in the 1990s. The roar of the Rolls Royce engines were so thrilling. Now you can hear a pin drop. What a difference 25 years makes.

Wow... good views of Bellevue! Good views of North Seattle. Oh my God... there's my house! Good views of Kitsap County and the Hood Canal. Good views of Wildcat Lake and the Blue Hills. Those are actually the remnants of a mountain range that were around long before the Olympics and Cascades ever came into being. Good views of the Olympic Mountains. Good views of Lake Cushman. Good view of the WA Coast. Good view of Point Grenville. That's Tribal Land there. Fun fact: Blue Glacier on Mt Olympus is the lowest glacier in elevation in the entire Continental US, at about 3000 feet. Also, there are about 1100 glaciers in the 48 States. 800 of them are in Washington State, so we stand clear without any competition. Mt. Rainier has valley glaciers, the only place in the Continental US where they exist. Those airline snacks are a one-way ticket to Type 2 diabetes. Hope you brought a protein snack with fiber, like nuts and seeds. Anyhow, time for me to rest up from the jetlag from watching this video.
@sla312 жыл бұрын
The jet lag is always easier going west than east. So, I usually find that it's not too bad when going to Hawaii. A nap still might be in order though haha. As always, thanks for the info on the Pacific Northwest and thanks for watching my friend.
@scottbridge93912 жыл бұрын
@@sla31 Yes, it's been proven that westward travel is easier on the body than flying eastward. From my own experience going over to Europe and Asia, you want to force yourself to stay up to bedtime local time and then CRASH in your hotel room that evening. Your body clock will reset itself to the local time when you get up the next morning. With most flights over to Asia, they make the easy because you get there in the early to mid-evening. It's harder when you fly to Sydney because you get there around 6:40 AM. I made myself stay up to bedtime that evening and I crashed on the bed in the hostel I stayed at. The next morning, I was fine and was adjusted to Sydney time. Also, taking some melatonin can be helpful.

I appreciate that my friend. But just so everyone’s on the same page. All of my videos have been uploaded in 4K for nearly 4 years now. So I decided to start putting it in the title. I was actually one of the first aviation channels to switch to 4K 😊. Thanks for watching my friend, it’s always much appreciated!

Cool rainbow effect right at takeoff! Maybe engine thrust, fog, and early morning sun!?
@sla312 жыл бұрын
So, that was mainly the morning fog, which then was condemning even further due to the pressure difference created by the wing. Then the sun did what the sun does when shining though water. The light is reflected, creating a rainbow of sorts. In this case caused by the water condensing on above the wing. Thanks for watching my friend!

Delta does not. Not on this route. I show everything they served in this video. I like Delta, and I took this flight because it was on the A339. That said, if I was just a paying passenger, I find it hard to see why I would choose Delta on this route. Hawaiian offers the same route at the same time of day on an A330 and they serve a full meal to everyone, including coach.

Great fly! Do you notice passenger in the plane are now mostly maskless?
@sla312 жыл бұрын
Yes, by far. I was at Phoenix yesterday and the terminal was packed. I had not seen Phoenix that busy for three years. Maybe 1 out of every 150 passengers had a mask on. It’s pretty clear when flying now that the majority of people could care less about masks. Now don’t misunderstand that, if someone wants to wear a mask that is completely fine. I’m not wearing a mask anymore, but if someone else chooses to, that’s their decision to make. But it’s pretty clear now that the majority of people flying in the United States don’t care about masks anymore.

I assume you mean when we landed. As we pass by Kalaeloa Airport shortly before landing at HNL. Kalaeloa Airport also called John Rodgers Field and formerly Naval Air Station Barbers Point, is a joint civil-military regional airport of the State of Hawaiʻi established on July 1, 1999, to replace the Ford Island NALF facilities which closed on June 30 of the same year. Nice footage! From a pilot's perspective, I don't like the A330neo much, or really Airbus planes at all. The whole workflow just doesn't click in my mind like the Boeing workflow does. I'd much prefer a 737 haha
@sla312 жыл бұрын
I can understand that. I've heard other pilots say similar things. Although I have a private pilots license. I've only ever flown small Cessnas and Pipers, so I have no way to know myself. When will the airlines start serving real food instead of pop & chips. I know that delta is notorious for doing this.

This really is a problem for Delta on flights like this. They compete head to head with Hawaiian, who operates the A330-200 and serves a full meal to all passengers. I love the A330-900N, but if I weren't an aviation enthusiast who ran a channel like this, I don't know why I'd fly Delta on this route over Hawaiian.

I enjoy these videos, but this guy has to be a trust fund kid. 560 flights wearing blue jeans and Converse sneakers. Never a suit or dress shoes? And who has the energy after a business trip to film an entire flight 560 times... AND ... edit all 560 videos before uploading, which is probably 2 hours at home waiting for all of the processing. He has to be the heir of Converse, Ocean Spray, or Dr. Scholl's.
@sla312 жыл бұрын
Well, I appreciate the guessing game, but I'll save you the uncertainty haha. I don't have any issue telling people about myself. First, I wouldn't consider myself a kid anymore. I'm almost 32 and have a child myself now, so as much as I hate to admit it, I'd say my days of being called a kid are over. Second, I'm definitely not, and never was, a trust fund kid. Although, I wouldn't consider my parents to be low income, a trust fund, or some major source of unlimited cash was not a part of my childhood. I worked my way though school, and with help from my parents, I graduated in 2012 with two aviation related bachelors degrees. Next, the clothing choices you see in the videos is simply because I prefer to be comfortable when I fly. Converse have been my "leisure" shoe choice for many years, and they kind of became my "signature" on the channel, since my face/voice isn't actually present in any of my videos. As I've always been happy to explain when anyone asks, I do everything for this channel by myself, in my free time, on my own dime. So, I'm not flying for business and I just film as I go. Even when I was right out of college and was working for American Airlines, I never filmed while I was on the job. Anyways, the point here is that I'm always flying on my own time and money, so when you spend as much time on planes as I do, it's nice to wear clothing you find comfortable. I haven't worked for any airline now since 2016. So, I don't fly for free either. Now, I started this channel as a hobby. When I flew, I'd record short parts of the flight and upload them for other people to watch. Honestly, I never thought it would ever grow to what it is now. 50,000+ subscribers and 700,000-1,500,000 views per month. Keep in mind that my videos have been uploaded over the span of nearly 7 years. My first upload was in June of 2105. So, it's not like the 560 flights have been over a 1 year period or something. It's still a lot, but it's been spread out over 7 years. Fast forward to today, and I'm thrilled that this channel has grown into a legitimate full time job. So, technically, I do fly for work now, but not like people think. I don't work for a company who pays for my travel and I film as I go. I fly for the channel, purely to get footage, which all comes out of my own pocket still. Anyways, this channel has grown to the point where it not only covers the cost of me flying to get footage, but also provides for my family better than any of the jobs I've ever had with those two college degrees I was just talking about. In the end, this channel which started as a hobby, that some months I would literally scrape money together just to make sure I had something to post, has grown into the main income for my family. I worked my tail off for years to build this channel into a legitimate job, some weeks working 50+ hours at my regular job, then fly8ing for three days to get footage, just to turn around and go back to my 50+ hour job again. There were many, many, sleepless nights, as I edited, rendered, and uploaded footage. And that doesn't even include the amount of time I spend replying to comments, and writing video descriptions. At least now, there aren't many late nights anymore, as I get to do most of that stuff during the day now haha. In the end, I have become very skilled at traveling as cheap as possible, I run this channel like a business because it is now. I have strict budgets that I follow, otherwise I'd run out of money. I often say, if money was no object, you'd see some really amazing stuff on this channel. Anyways, I hope that helps shed some light on how the channel has grown to what it is today. Thanks for watching my friend. Every view matters, and that's why, even at 50,000 subscribers I still try to reply to every comment. The community and people watching my content everyday is the trust fund that allows me to keep doing this.
