And I noticed he retired the jeans for a more comfortable ride !!! And they pack easier too !! I suppose the 777 uses the "Very Long" runway at 12,100 Ft. long. The other two are 8,000 and 10,000 respectively. Out of that Massive Cloud Bank, drop the flaps and banking right, lining up for the runway, Maverick "Call the Ball !" Maverick has the ball. Drop the gear, we are going in !!

You know what’s funny? Out of everyone, United is the only airline I’ve actually seen washing their planes. In Honolulu, a lot of their planes come in from the mainland in the early afternoon and then don’t fly back for like 4-6 hours. In that time they actually have people out with huge brushes on scissor lifts literally washing and scrubbing their planes down. I’ve never seen any other airline doing that. So it’s kind of baffling to me that their planes wings always seem to be dirty, as they’re the only airline I’ve seen actually washing them haha. Regardless, this is hardly a United Airlines problem. Every airline I’ve ever flown has some planes that look like this. Even one of my Qatar Airways flights had big oil marks on the wings. Anyway, thanks for watching!

@@sla31 No airline has planes as filthy as AirFrance. Their livery is ugly to begin with and I don't think they ever wash their aircraft (not sure about oil on the wings because I don't remember a video where you flew on an AirFrance jet). Southwest jets always seem to be clean (maybe it's the blue paint, but they always seem to shine).

@@robertkobrick4634 I actually know that Southwest does indeed wash their planes pretty regularly. I've just never seen it actually happening. But, I've heard employees and people who contract for them talking about it. So, that's probably a big reason why their planes always look so clean.

What’s that dark stuff spotted on the wing?
@sla315 ай бұрын
It's oil or hydraulic fluid that leaked out onto the surface of the wing. Either from a mechanical issue that was then fixed, or even a preventative repair where the fluid spilled onto the surface of the wing during the repair. Either way it's oil of some sort. The reason it's black is not because the oil is black. Hydraulic fluid, which is what it almost certainly is, is usually clear or a light yellowish color. Once it spills on the wing, water won't wash it off as oil and water don't mix. So what inevitably happens I those oily spots get dirt and grime stuck on them, which turns the oil black over time. Eventually the oil will dry simply from the sun and elements, but it will then leave the grime behind. So it's dirty hydraulic fluid or what's left over if it's dried up.

very nice,,,but what is the point of uploading an eight hours video? aren't people interested in watching a takeoff and landing?
@sla315 ай бұрын
You know, when I started this channel 9 years ago I didn't post videos like this. I only posted the takeoffs and landings. Because I thought the same thing... No one is going to want to watch the cruising portions of flight when nothing happens. But as the years went on I started to realize that the videos performed better, the longer they were. So I started to ask people what they wanted, and what they liked, and people overwhelmingly asked for longer videos and for flights that weren't cut up. And when I asked people why they wanted a full 8 hour video when most of it was just cruising, they gave me tons of reasons that I'd never thought about. Here are just a couple of them. People told me they them because they're afraid to fly, but they desperately want to overcome that. And watching these full, uncut, flights is a way for them to be exposed to that from the comfort of wherever they choose to be. They can stop it whenever they want and not have to worry about having an anxiety attack while on a real flight. People tell me they are afraid to fly but have to soon for some reason. Maybe they need to travel for cancer treatment, a funeral, a wedding, what ever, and they watch the full flights from start to finish so they can see exactly what it will be like, down to every sound and procedure. People have told me they watch them while they work or study because it doesn't take a ton of mental power, and every time the look up there is somewhere new out the window. And if they use one that's a specific length, they know when the flight lands that their workday is almost over. People tell me they watch the whole thing because they like the white noise that the engines create, etc and that it helps them relax or helps keep their anxiety low. Some people use these really long flights like this to help them sleep. I've even had people tell me they use them to help their baby sleep, and that it's the only thing they've found that helps them. I've had people tell me they watch them because they love traveling and flying, but can't anymore because of a medical condition and it's the closest thing they've found to being on a real flight again. And I could go on, and on. There are tons of reasons why people want and request that I post full flights from start to finish, many of which I never would have considered myself. This particular video, after only 24 hours being up, at over 8 hours, is easily my best performing video in the last month right now. I'll be honest, some of it I still don't understand haha, but people love the full flights like this. But I know that not everyone wants to sit and watch an 8 hour video, so that's why I try to make is as easy as possible to skip to the part of the video people want by adding as many chapters as possible. I hope that helps explain it a bit. Thanks for watching my friend!
