Without the Ayala's the Philippines would didn't have a modern fancy cities that it could be proud of to foreigners and yet many dislike foreigners due to past historical facts and events. The Philippines should be grateful to the Son's and Daughters of Spain for the Philippines didn't ultimately left behind in progress. In return I think it would be nice if Spanish language to return as one of our national language along with the two because that is the language of our heroes and aside its the unifying language that made us to be a nation with our people called Filipinos that derived from the name of the King of Spain. Furthermore we could connect to our Hispanic brothers in South America as well and possibly promote additional tourism and commerce from all countries in South America who speaks Spanish.

The Spanish did help unite the Filipinos as a country and brought advance technology to the tribal societies that were already living there. Problem is the system that the Spanish established mainly benefited those who had Spaniard ancestry, so it was both racist and economically destructive to the non-European locals. I think in the long term we would have been better off as a country if the Spanish didn't colonize the Philippines and instead we just build are more Asian-centric society from the start (Vietnam, Thailand, etc).

Malls won't become this big without consumers/buyers and people who would set up their shops inside it. In short, you should thank ethnic Filipinos. Also, we don't need the Spanish language, we have our very own beautiful Austronesian languages.
