As you may know, Japan train system is one of the best in the world, if not the best! And one of my favorite line in Tokyo is the Yurikamome line. 🚄
It’s a monorail train that takes you from Shinbashi to Toyosu in Odaiba. While Odaiba is definitely a place you should visit during your trip to Tokyo, the Yurikamome line is an attraction by itself.
To get the best front seats, take the Yurikamome line from Shimbashi as the line starts there.
During your trip, you will go through Tokyo bay, the Rainbow Bridge 🌈 and most of Odaiba island.
Enjoy the ride, and the view! 🤩

THIS LINE IS INSANE!!!! I DON'T FEEL LIKE RIDING MONORAIL OR PUBLIC TRANSPORT, BUT ME AND MY KIDS FELT LIKE RIDING A GIANT THEME PARK RIDE (BETTER THAN MAGIC MOUNTAIN ORLANDO DISNEY-EPCOT CENTER) TO OUR 5 STAR HOTEL IN ODAIBA... AWESOME XP++ SIMPLY UNFORGETTABLE

Half an hour of pure relaxation, this line is a really interesting sight of Tokyo, but where are the people hiding?

Hello Stéphane, thank you for your message. I’m glad you enjoyed the ride. 😃 I was in the front of the train so you could not see inside the train. But it wasn’t that busy anyway that day (weekday).

This is a bus/train in a trough. monorail rides on a single beam down the center of the vehicle. But it is very interesting none the less.

This is not a monorail. A monorail either rides on or hangs from a single beam. (example Disney Monorail) This people mover runs on two tracks.

Yes you are right, it’s not technically a monorail. I will keep the title as it is cause people use to call it that way. But thank you for the feedback! :)

@@sugoiijapan It is not just Japanese people that confuse an "autonomous train" with a "monorail train" = usually both are "driverless", and that is probably the reason. I believe that you shot this with an Apple iPhone using 4k = looks like what my Apple iPhone motion imagery would look like.

Does anyone know why is the railway above the ground? It must be really expensive to build like that. Is there any practical purpose?
@PhirePhlame
@PhirePhlame Ай бұрын
One immediate one is that there's no crossings, meaning that rail traffic and car traffic don't have to dance around and intersect with each other. There's also at least one stretch where the rail corridor runs parallel with a street directly below.
