Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. It is located about 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas. Hoover Dam was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression and was dedicated on September 30, 1935, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
The Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge is an arch bridge in the United States that spans the Colorado River between the states of Arizona and Nevada. The four-lane Hoover Dam Bypass opened on October 19, 2010 and It is the second-tallest bridge in the United States (900 ft).

cool 😎 video, so many things changed during the last 31 years. I visited Hoover Dam in 1988 there was no bridge over the canyon etc. The water wasn’t that low, like I remember it was almost full. Ok, is a dam, a nice engineering and building effort which deserves all my respect, but...i dont know why is this place considered an icon on the united states, there are a lot of more interesting places, natural or unnatural. I always say that americans can do a show and business from a fly landed on a wall.

This was built during the great depression 1930's. It's a hydroelectric dam, Over 80 years ago. The facade is Art Deco. Unique to a public works. Especially in this side of the country. The tallest of its time. If you can't relate to time, engineering advances, and architectual structural conception, then you wouldn't understand the meaning of the pyramids in Egypt or Mexico. Because it speaks to a human advancement. No matter how primitive they were.
